For the first time in nearly 20 years, Classic Rock star and FM Radio staple Lee Michaels' storied A&M Records catalog will be released, spanning Michaels' amazing career at A&M from 1968-1973. All 7 CDs have been digitally re-mastered from the original master tapes to bring out the highest quality sound from these classic recordings. The packaging on all of the titles have been manufactured and designed to mirror the original vinyl releases from the '60s & '70s.

I have the old and remastered Albums, wrong songs listed on web pages.
This is classic late 60's early 70's Rock. I love these albums since back "in the day". If you could only have 1 or 2, I would pick this and Barrel (IMHO) . Be advised, that on the Amazon pages for EACH Lee Michaels album, Amazon has incorrectly listed the songs attributed to the album listed. This album only has 5 songs on it, not the 12 incorrect titles listed in the description, same with all the other titles. I advised Amazon of this error months ago, but they did nothing to correct it. The albums will be correct, the Amazon listing is wrong. Just FYI. If your a fan, then you already know this.

Best Lee Michaels Of All
I purchased tickets to see Lee Michaels at the Monterey Fair Grounds. I didn't own any of his albums, and never listened to his music. It was just something to do on a Sunday afternoon. The roadies set up the stage with just an organ and drum kit. I start thinking that this may not have been a good idea after all. Lee comes out barefoot with his drummer Frosty. He comments that the last time he was at the fairgrounds was when he snuck in to the Monterey Pop Festival. He then goes on to perform this whole album live. Needless to say I was blown away as with the rest of the crowd. To me if you want to own one Lee Michaels album this is the one. He just lets loose and puts his heart and soul into playing and singing. To me the rest of his albums sound to studio crafted and lack direction. After this performance, I stopped by the local record shop and picked up a copy of this album on the way home. It is one of the highlights of my music collection. Whenever I play this album, it instantly transports me back to that warm Sunday afternoon in Monterey with good friends and a great great live performance from Lee.Powers Tom

NOW THIS IS A HAMMOND!!
I first got turned on to this album back in the day when WNEW-FM in New York would actually play whole albums. Imagine that! All these years later I still love this album. If I had a dollar for every version of Stormy Monday that was ever recorded I wouldbe rich. And a lot of those versions are damn good. Having said that I have never heard a better version then the one Lee recordedon this album. Lee displays what a powerful and incredible instrument the Hammond organ is in the right hands. He's got that thingfiring on all cylinders and man, on Stormy Monday Lee will take you to church. Every time I play that song I have to crank it up.I love the whole album, especially side 1 but it's Stormy Monday that defines this album for me. It just doesn't get any better!Download the MP3 version and see for yourself.[...]

Lee Michaels at his best.
I had this CD on vynal as a teen. I remember the song STORMY MONDAY, as being outstanding. My memorie did not fail me. STORMY MONDAY by itself is well worth the purchace. Lee Michaels is all over his organ. This band was the pre runner of WHITE STRIPES. WHITE STRIPES were drums and gutar. This band is keyboards and drums. Other songs worth a lisiten are, a radio hit, HIGHTY HI, TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL,( with a drum solo, by a 300lb drummer, "Frosty ) The disc is not a great disc, but very good, and worth an addition to any rock music collection.

Awesome...
If you don't have this album.... SHAME ON YOU !!! Lee and Dusty are awesome musicians. MR B-3 and a killer drummer...I first saw Lee Michaels on Ed Sullivan way back when and was taking piano lessons (started at age 10) and I was just blown away.It only took two months to talk my parents into getting me a Vox Continental (wish I still had it) and a brand new black face Fender Bassman. (yeah I had to pay them back and I still have the Bassman)Didn't realize that every band wanted a KB player... I tried so hard to emulate Lee's style and did a pretty good job of it. Still playing in a band and using a Hammond XK-1. Sounds just like a B-3...Listen to Dusty drumming too... that is one "in the pocket" drummer. There are people who bang on drums and there are people who play the drums. Dusty plays the living death out of them.

THIS IS TRULY THE GREATEST LEE MICHAELS LP!
I own this on it's originally released vinyl recording. I grew up in the Monterey Bay area where Lee Michaels with his amazing drummer & only other performing musician drummer Dusty, toured periodically at local venues. I saw them perform this album in it's entirety at the local famous Monterey Fairgrounds with a band called Ballin' Jack playing second bill.Lee Michaels gave his all every concert especially when performing the opening medley to this incredible album. It also included Dusty's bare-handed drum solo! Yes, the drum solo recorded here is Dusty playing his kit bare-handed. Lee's Hammond B-3 playing is unsurpassed & is right up there with Jimmy Smith, Stevie Winwood, among other greats.Nowadays you don't witness such finesse onstage where the performers took their shows to the ultimate climax.I love this album & I'm grateful to now be able to download it for my CD collection.Buy this, download it, then play it at maximum volume. Especially the opening medley!

Das Highlight ist natürlich die 20 Minuten Langversion vom Track "Tell me how do you feel" !
