Q: Can you use the mat outside?

I haven't tried it outside(mine is indoors) but I would think you would need a really level surface outside for it to be used and take in account that there will be more things lying about(dirt,twigs,grass cuttings etc) and the weather elements also.So I would recommend to use it indoors.

Q: Why did my mat develop a kink so that I have to putt over a hump. And why can't the manufacturers help me?

I am sorry that I cannot answer that question. I have had my mat for several months now with regular almost daily use and I have not experienced anything like that. Although I must admit I do run the vacuum over it periodically to smooth it out.
