Mandela: An Illustrated Autobiography

What a great book. I mean, even the jacket was well designed ... it wraps right around the book - one continuous photo. The paper it's printed on has a nice feel ... not some cheap trash.I love this man and so it's such a pleasing telling of his life ... and the photos are great.It's a nice Coffee table book and I enjoy the stories which all have supporting photos or docs. It's for real!It is a nice gift for anyone.

I used to own the previous version of Nelson Mandela's autobiography, which was never returned to me by a friend. Now I'm glad I waited to replace it, because the larger format and wonderful pictures add so much to the experience of understanding Mr. Mandela's personal history, the history of South Africa and his incomparable effect on the world. An excellent book that you can open at any page and find something interesting to learn.

After reading many books and articles about this great man, I think this book had the greatest impact and appreciation of his strength, kindness and humaneness. After such mistreatment and cruelty, his humanity towards his oppressors is impressive. The writing is even more revealing with the things he did not say, but what he must have been feeling and his longing to be free as a citizen and as a South African. He was very clear about the help and assistance that the group supported and implemented. This should be required reading for all students in all history classes throughout the universe. He is a global personality and warrior for people of all nations who seek freedom to be included in their nations.

What can I say, you think you know about someone and then you read their autobiography and then it is like opening your eyes to a new universe. I really did not know quite a bit and was astobnished to see that who I thought he was in some respects was gerat than he was and in other respect, he was less thatn I thought, but the book gives you the option to rise about and see the worldwide legacy and history of a struggle for freedom and equality ... that is Nelson Mandela.

The images in this book are beautiful and it shows the life of this great man. I truly love the front cover...it makes you realize how fortunate we are to have our freedom!

I bought this as a gift for my mother. It is a very pretty book full of quality pictures, and is well worth displaying for guests to see. And it is a detailed look at the man and his journey. I highly recommend it.

While I don't subscribe to his political views, I can't help but be impressed with his courage and endurance and how he is reported to have emerged without a trace of bitterness or hatred. I admire that greatly. The book is well documented.

Good reading. The illustations were very good and helped me to understand more about this GREAT MAN., and offer more respect to what he and other members of ANC STTOD FOR
