Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book is a classic in English literature. The story of a young boy brought up by wolves in the jungle and how he is able to relate closely to all the animals around him. He had conflicts with Shere Khan and Kaa and the King of the Orangutans, but because he is able to use his wits, Mowgli is a survivor and he follows the Law of the Jungle. This version of The Jungle Book has been beautifully illustrated. The drawings add depth to the meaning of the story and help bring the characters to life. I recommend this version of The Jungle Book as a gift and for reading, as it is pure delight.

This is such a classic tale, well worth revisiting, wonderful book with rich characters. The imagination runs wild with images in your mind, the cover draws you in. I always preferred Mowgli's animal friends, Baloo was my favorite, but now I have an appreciation for the variety of characters played by the other animals. Thoroughly enjoyed re-reading this Classic!

I was beguiled into purchasing by the stunning cover design. Kaa the python must have had a hand in it!A beautiful edition. The Black and white pictures throughout are interesting and had me looking at them closely and thinking more about the stories they represented.I am very familiar with the story of Mowgli, yet it has been a long time since I read the original by Rudyard Kipling. It's a fantastic story and I think you'll be surprised by it if you have only the Disney versions to recall currently.I had also forgotten The Jungle Book is a book of short stories. Rikki Tikki Tavi is an absolute must to read. And I don't think I had ever read the story of Toomai.You will not regret ordering this beautiful edition. Favourite stories from childhood read as an adult will reveal deeper insights and delight in an even greater way. ☺️
