I used my shaker for the first time last night. It is very light but feels strong enough to hold and shake your drinks with ice. Along the base of the lid there is a sturdy rubber seal, that can be removed and cleaned. There are 4 slots where the lid fits down inside and lock the lid on place. If you notice the photo I posted with the gray measuring topper, it fits down inside and covers the top strainer, if you hold that down firmly while you start to shake it actually forms a suction seal to the top. I read a lot of the reviews before deciding to buy and the one complaint was that it leaks and makes a mess.....I think if you don't hold that gray top down tightly as you start shaking it doesn't have the seal that is needed and I can see liquid going everywhere. But I had zero leaks, I actually couldn't even lift the gray cap off it was suctioned in after I shook the drink, I had to unscrew the lid from the cup.... It was perfect. Very happy with this purchase.

I have been looking for the perfect cocktail shaker for years. Finally, I think I've found it. My requirements were pretty minimal. It just needed to NOT LEAK when shaking, and be EASY TO OPEN after shaking. This thing does both of those like no other shaker I've ever used. That would be enough for 5 stars right there. But consider that this shaker also:- pours nicely (not drippy and doesn't clog with ice or muddled stuff)- won't break because it's plastic (my last decent shaker was made of glass and broke)- has ounce and milliliter markings (that I didn't think I'd use but already have and really like now)- is clear so you can see what's in it (unlike metal ones)- doesn't freeze your hand when shaking (like metal ones)- is less noisy when shaking compared to metal ones- is decently large- is one of the cheapest shakers out thereSomebody put a lot of thought into this thing's design, and it paid off. I don't write reviews unless I'm super excited about something. I'm super excited about this shaker. Don't hesitate to get this one.

Bought as a gift for son (21+) who wanted to learn to make more mixed drinks. This was a great starter kit. He is having fun and being creative. Great price and good quality.

I like this set. It has a good seal. It doesn’t leak and the drink recipe markings are nice. My only two complaints are that 1) it’s plastic not glass. I like the sturdy feel of glass. And 2) the strainer/jogger sticks up quite high so I can’t store it on my normal cup shelf.But those are small complaints and overall I’m quite happy.

This shaker is such a wonderful gift. I may end up having to give these more often as gifts ;-) The shaker is clearly labeled and all parts are in great shape and function well. For 15 bucks -- you can't beat it! It's a gift for my friends' dad who loves making and mixing cocktails. They do have a metal shaker, but those can sometimes be a bit noisy. I think this one is both unique and probably marginally quieter than the other. Plus, with the helpful recipes on the side in clear print, it's a bartenders dream. Overall, nice packaging, arrived quickly, and I'm super excited to gift! (and hopefully, receive drinks made using it :-) )

I was looking for a shaker to replace my metal one. I wanted one where the lid wouldnt get stuck and freeze my hands. The shaker is easy to clean, doesn't freeze my hands off and has nifty recipies in the past. Also A LOT cheaper than the fancy dual wall metal shaker I was considering

The clear plastic tumbler has graduation & recipes along the side. OK. The black plastic top has a built in strainer, meh, but the difficulty is that the top locks into the tumbler with small tabs in slots. I have to look closely to get it in place. There is a jigger (.75 oz) that forms a cork in the opening of the strainer. The cork has to be held in place firmly or it leaks. The whole thing is simply not as good as the simplicity of a Boston shaker.

I love this Shaker. I actually bought it to use with my coffee in the morning. I like the Starbucks double shot from Starbucks but needed to start saving money and making coffee at home. Shaker is perfect! I can fit all I need into it shake up my drink and go. I am going to use it this summer for some of the cocktails that are listed on the side. No salt necessary the measurement and recipes are all right there for you! Should be a good time for everyone!

Doesn’t leak and very easy to use and clean, I through my old one out as soon as I got this one

I have not use it, but seems good quality. I saw amazon.com review that this one leaks when shakes, and will see.I give five stars mainly for its price - CDN$ 13.95.

Decent enough shaker. The built in strainer is nice. The printed "fill-to-line" recipes are great too. My only issue with it is the cheap feeling plastic construction, and the odd 3/4 and 1.5 oz fill lines on the stopper/jigger on the top - wish the lines were a bit more logical (0.5 oz, 1oz, 1.5 oz), maybe even a little bigger to hit 2 oz.
