Faulty Diagonal Inputs
I am deeply disappointed with Hori. This new Octa Fightpad seems to have significant issues with diagonal inputs; they just don't register properly. I never encountered such problems with the previous models. Hori seriously needs to reevaluate their quality assurance process for these products. It's baffling how they could allow a product with such glaring flaws to be released. Witnessing Hori take steps backward in terms of product quality is exceptionally frustrating. I'll be returning this fightpad, and I'm now contemplating whether I can maintain my loyalty to Hori in the future. This level of quality is utterly unacceptable. DO NOT BUY.

i bought it for the design but used it daily
i loved the normal hori fight commander octa so i decided to buy this one for the design i like tekken and i have alot of hours in tekken so i decided to buy this to use while playing it its nice the dpad takes time to break in though i was missing giant swing inputs for awhile until i broke it in i still have this one around even though i recently bought the pro version they released so it has replaced this one i think its really cool they are working with popular fighting games i wish they made a mortal kombat one if they do end up doing that i will buy that one too alot of people complain about the dpad i can say if you have issues with it download the software and mess with the dead zones abit it helps alot

Works.
Works well enough but feels cheap as hell in the hands. It has zero weight. I have pretty bad wrist pain when I play fighting games on a standard stick controller and this was no different.

Good in most aspects, but let down by the awful Dpad
This controller has great ergonomics responsive buttons, and nice layout design. But none of that really matters if the D pad just won't pick up your inputs No matter how I've tried to adjust this thing on its windows app, I just cannot consistently input diagnols, especially in the left side of the Dpad. Stay clear of this thing

Beware of the dpad
I got it for the design and for the addition of a second analog stick (more of a slider). The good qualities are the addition of a second stick for third person controller, rotating your character during cosmetic customizing and additional inputs for games like mk11. The bad qualities is one major thing. The dpad is terrible. It uses the rubber membranes that dont match the click format face buttons. Also the diagonals dont register leading me to drop alot of inputs during tekken 8 u know the controller that has tje said game paint job on it. Minor gripes are no headset jack and its extremely ligh weight. So buyer beware of the dpad and know what u r getting.

Great
Very good controller for fighting games, I exclusively use it for all my fighting games now. But it’s probably a bit overpriced just becose it has a Tekken logo on it. You might want to get the basic model

Beautiful but busted?
This is my first hori commander controller and I was excited for it but.. here is my review after a week. Cons 1. LB button gets stuck easily, sometimes even putting in multiple commands so im stuck going in and out of "specialty mode" on tekken 8. I have to press and wiggle the button around to try and "pop it back out" to stop the commands from being put in. 2. D-Pad Diagonal inputs? At first I sat in the practice arena thinking maybe it was me, but I can say now after a week that it really struggles with those diagonal inputs. I came back to write a review only to see many others also having this same issue. Pros 1. Super light-weight, I have to watch where I sit it since it seems like the cord is heavier than the controller lol 2.Big buttons make it easier to make sure you are getting those combos in 3. The additional RB and RT button makes heat and rage arts easily chainable with the press of a button (Tekken8) Ill be back for another update after testing the HORI's Companion APP, it may be a fix to the diagonal problem. If so, then this controller 5 star easily minus the issue i have with my LB

D-Pad Diagonal issues.
Once again. A big disapointment from Hori. Seeing this controller is supposed to be for fighting games. Even sporting a "wonderful" Tekken 8 design, the controller isn't up to figthing games standards. First of all. The dedicated software used to change the D-Pad sensitivity isn't working properly. The controller can be recognized as a 360 controller or an actual PC Pad. If you launch the program to change the settings, it'll act as a PC periphery. AS soon as you TAB OUT of the program window, the controller disconnects itself and reconnects as a 360 controller. What does it mean? The software adjustment you just made are not being taken in consideration. Second of all. The D-Pad YET AGAIN is an absolute mess. The diagonals are NOT registered properly, there is no ammount of software update that are gonna fix this. It is a physical D-Pad issue. It is not up to fighting game standards. I've played fighting games for a solid 10+ years and I was having issue doing quarter circle inputs. The controller itself feels cheap. The plastic for the shoulder button is something you should be REALLY careful with. The front buttons also need to be handled gently. It is just the same product as the other Hori with a fancy design on it. Please if you are a fighting game enjoyer DO NOT buy this product. I've already sent mine back and will look into alternative in order to play fighting games. I wish the Commander Fightpad was still around for Ps5. But sadly Hori does not really care.

Hori T8 Controller! 🕹️

Very good controller for its current price!
I give it a 5☆ because honestly, if you can get yourself this controller for less than 30$CAD, it's hard to complain. The same controller is 60$USD on the Hori USA website. You can also buy the same controller Licensed by Capcom for around 90$CAD if you prefer, but in this current economy, we're trying to save and put the hobby aside unless there is a very good deal that you can't skip. I wonder if the price was affected by how Tekken 8 players were letdown with the 2nd Season Pass. I connected the controller on a Brook Wingman FGC to play on my PS5 and it just work. I can play Street Fighter 6 World Tour with the right joystick and having my full six buttons for classic play. I didn't really liked the D-Pad on older Street Fighter games (SF 30th AC) but on SF6 it isn't too bad, just nothing compared to the 8bitdo M30 Xbox version which is by far better and more confortable to hold. tldr; just buy it :)

Only 4 stars because of lightweight
I got a feeling it is to soft, to lightweight. Not so good for few hour sessions.
