i bought it for the design but used it daily
i loved the normal hori fight commander octa so i decided to buy this one for the design i like tekken and i have alot of hours in tekken so i decided to buy this to use while playing it its nice the dpad takes time to break in though i was missing giant swing inputs for awhile until i broke it in i still have this one around even though i recently bought the pro version they released so it has replaced this one i think its really cool they are working with popular fighting games i wish they made a mortal kombat one if they do end up doing that i will buy that one too alot of people complain about the dpad i can say if you have issues with it download the software and mess with the dead zones abit it helps alot

Buy the basic Octa instead!
As you’ve seen in these reviews, the dpad has major issues with diagonal inputs. If you are not applying pressure at exactly a 45 degree angle, you aren’t going to get a diagonal input. For example, if you roll your thumb from down to forward on this controller, your inputs may look something like:- ⬇️⬇️⬇️↘️➡️➡️➡️Whereas a normal controller would be something like:- ⬇️⬇️↘️↘️➡️➡️The area where the diagonal registers is SO much slimmer than the cardinal directions, whereas normal controllers evenly distribute the area between each direction. I heard this may have been fixed in a firmware update, but already returned the controller.Trust me, just get the basic Octa instead unless you know for sure this controller has been fixed. The dpad is SO much better.

Not the Best Controller
I like HORI's game controllers, particularly the PS5/PS4 Octa, so I ordered the controller around the time it was announced, mainly because I wanted to compare the two and have a backup. Sadly, the Tekken version of the controller is not quite as good as the original Octa. The positives are the right stick add-on. That does help, particularly if you need to control the camera in Tekken 8's Arcade Quest or lobbies in that game or other fighting games such as SF6 (or Granblue if it's lobbies can be controller in that manner. The design is also great. I wish there would be more fightpads with designs, in fact. The controller is cool-looking and pleasing to the eye. However, the D-Pad is not great on this controller ... much worse than the first Octa, particularly as it pertains to diagonals. With the Tekken 8 Octa, if you're trying to get a diagonal input, you have to "force" it, whereas on the original Octa, it doesn't require as much to get a proper diagonal. Even adjusting the sensitivity in the Device Manager did not seem to improve it at all. Also, it's only for PC, so you may not be able to use it at certain tournaments without a converter. This may not be a huge deal for those who primarily or exclusively play on PC, but it is something to take note of if you do not.Because of this, I could only recommend the controller if you're incapable of getting the PS5 or Xbox Series Octa, or you just want the controller because it looks cool. It makes a decent backup in a pinch, but I would stick with the other Octas which are much better quality.

Great
Very good controller for fighting games, I exclusively use it for all my fighting games now. But it’s probably a bit overpriced just becose it has a Tekken logo on it. You might want to get the basic model

Near top controller
This game pad works as intended and I would overclock to get the best effective performance. Most of the complaints are human error. I have all hour pads this is the fastest response pad. Unfortunately the MKX mad Catz is a tad better responsive. But it’s not available to buy. I have one and will enjoy both pads.Overclock is a must look up you videos to get 1 Ms response.

I wanted to love it but I can't
Diagonals are really off even with the software. I've owned other Hori pads like the Fighting Commander and the Octa for PS5. This is basically an Octa with an extra thumbstick. which is a nice feature that doesn't change the layout of the controller much, but it wasn't worth the extra issues. I'd stick with the PS5 octa if you want this version of the controller that isn't nearly as bad. Otherwise, I still prefer the Fighting Commander overall, but if you want one in this price range and layout just get the older Octa.

Beautiful but busted?
This is my first hori commander controller and I was excited for it but.. here is my review after a week.Cons1. LB button gets stuck easily, sometimes even putting in multiple commands so im stuck going in and out of "specialty mode" on tekken 8. I have to press and wiggle the button around to try and "pop it back out" to stop the commands from being put in.2. D-Pad Diagonal inputs? At first I sat in the practice arena thinking maybe it was me, but I can say now after a week that it really struggles with those diagonal inputs. I came back to write a review only to see many others also having this same issue.Pros1. Super light-weight, I have to watch where I sit it since it seems like the cord is heavier than the controller lol2.Big buttons make it easier to make sure you are getting those combos in3. The additional RB and RT button makes heat and rage arts easily chainable with the press of a button (Tekken8)Ill be back for another update after testing the HORI's Companion APP, it may be a fix to the diagonal problem. If so, then this controller 5 star easily minus the issue i have with my LB

Takes time to get used to
I've seen reviews about the dpad being bad but to be honest it's not that bad and you can do Korean backdash on tekken 8 pretty quickly. I made it to beginner rank to mighty ruler rank online with Azucena with this controller, you just gotta take time to adjust to the controller and I hope this helps you buy this or not.
