ASUS ROG Strix Flare (Cherry MX Red) Aura Sync RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Switches, Customizable Badge, USB Pass Through and Media Controls

This keyboard has more weight than I thought, this is my first mechanical keyboard. It's different, the keys are very sensitive and loud, but it's a mechanical keyboard of course it's loud. It takes a while to get used to, I'm so used to using this keyboard, now my laptops keyboard feels like garbage compared to this, it's so stiff. The RGB lights are nice, it matches my computer, I use Asus aura sync most of the time it's blue, not RGB. Overall it's well built, it feels nice, it needs an update through ROG armory before use. Don't buy it you are using corsair lights in your PC, corsair uses didn't software (just an FYI for anyone who wants to have RGB lights that sync together). I used all Asus aura compatible products and I like it.

The people who say they don't like the fact it's plastic are biased, its cherry mx switches are plate mounted meaning there is a metal plate between the PCB and the top piece of the shell. I have to say that it's fairly easy to use and it's beautiful, armoury is qeasy and straightforward. The keys are very very smooth and responsive as expected from cherry. The PCB itself is well made, the only concern is how difficult it was to replace the switches. They are not easy to replace. I spilled my drink on mine and had to replace them, it isnt easy, we will just say that. But if you take care if it, it takes care of you.

The mat black look is quite elegant. The cherry MX red keys are snappy, but muted. The soft rainbow glow flowing through the keyboard is easily turned off or muted with a successive button push. Similarly, audio volume is right their at my fingertips to increase, decrease, or mute. If you lift up the keyboard, the wrist rest does not move with it. I don't really like that, but this is a minor annoyance as I seldom lift the keyboard. The attachment cord does seem a little stiff. I haven't used the USB connector in back, but it seems handy. Overall I really like the look and feel.

Asus has this great gaming keyboard all the keys light up nicely and you can customize lighting patterns with armory crate software also you can sync all your devices with the armory crate to control all your rgb devices.

I bought this a while back (year-ish), for my son. He games daily and is rather hard on his keyboard and mouse. He's not had any issues out of this one, so far, and he loves it. I think some of the keys are wearing down, visually, but that's just because of his excessive use of it - and that's normal over time.

For the price it's good to go. You get mechanical keys. Feels solid. It's natural deficit exists with Asus software. Could get flaky with additional RGB scenarios in your setup....which is the case across all brands. Keep it simple and you reduce your risk of stability. Lol. It's not top end which is why the 4 star rating, however with it's budget you get great bang for the buck. In the end it's a keyboard. As far as longevity, I have no clue yet as I've only had it for a couple months

The strix flare has great cherry switches and the style matches my other ROG great.It has an very nice key feel and feedback. The wristwrest is at just the right hight for me and the usb pass thru is a great place to put a biometric login device.

Overall I've been using this keyboard since early 2019 and I haven't had any issues with it. The only problem I face is the hotkey/programmable feature, which I don't use, so therefore I forget the hotkey and accidentally press is once in like 6 months and end up having to problem solve to find the issue. Still great and that's mostly my fault anyways lolupdate 5/24/24: Still to this day no problems, I work on my computer all day and then also use it for recreation. Def very reliable
