When you get a larger flash memory card, what do you do with your older flash memory card that came with your camera or MP3 player? Now, easily create a USB drive with those extra cards that you don't use anymore, or use any size card to fit your memory needs.

It is of very flimsy and cheap construction. The design is not well thought out, for example the cover falls off easily, leaving open circuits exposed. There is no slit, so that it is necessary to remove this cover in order to insert the card. It did not work for me at all. I tried several different computers.Regards,proclus[...]

An excellent way to extend the life of cameras, etc that uses the old SmartMedia memory cards.
The SmartMedia reader allows me to extend the useful life of my trusty older model digital camera for those "risky" shots. No dealing with drivers; I have Vista and XP operating systems on my computers. I will the reader till the day my SmartMedia cards die.The only improvement I would like to see is improving the cover; the cover seems too flimsy and weak.I definitely recommend this reader to anyone who wants to extend the life of their SmartMedia memory cards.

SM card reader reads SM card
It's hard to find an SM card reader these days. This was my third attempt -- the first two ended up with an Asian company not even understanding what an SM card was, but advertising and trying to sell something that didn't do the trick.This product is pretty basic, and not very durable or sophisticated seeming. You have to open up a flimsy cover to slide in the SM card. But it does the trick, and works without a hitch on both Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit machines (the only ones I've tried).

This item works just as I expected and does the job well. I couldn't ask for more then an expensive device that works.

Keychain physical connectiom problems
The USB connection needed an extension cord in order for it tobe plugged in to my computer. Once that was solved it workedwell. DJ

Good price and it works. Careful taking the cover off the first time...I broke off a small tab but it didn't affect the performance thankfully

Not very sturdy
It works well to transfer images from the Smartedia card to the computer but it is certainly not sturdy enought to belong on a keychain. The cover for the card is difficult to attach securely. That said, it does work well to transfer pictures from the camera card to the computer without using the camera.
