I like it
Don't know much about cooling systems but I couldn't find another system that fully covered the plate on the AMD 64 core threadripper and this one does cover it and keeps it cool. On idle it's running around 35c and under full load with all cores at 100% it's 71c.

Okay... I'm a fan
Noctua makes great stuff and this is no exception. Ran the 32-core Threadripper full out for 30 minutes and it never throttled back; impressive given the TDP of the chip is 350 watts. The fans did spin up, but come on... I can live with that.

Reliably cools my Threadripper PRO 7965WX
This and three 120MM case fans keep temps between 45C idle and 85C under heavy ML loads. Pleasantly surprised!

You probably want the NH-D9 instead
This mounts PERPINDICULAR to long axis of CPU which means the exhaust will blow up, and intake is coming from below (i.e. on consumer motherboards, it's pulling hot air from GPU below). If you want proper front->back airflow, you should go with the Noctua NH-D9 instead.

Very effective cooler for normal workloads
Cooler is used with Gigabyte Aero D motherboard, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7960X. With all cores at 100% the cooler cannot prevent throttling. With Adobe Photography Suite performance is excellent. What is impressive is the speed in thermal rise in the Threadripper whether its for a couple of cores or all threads… it is effectively instantaneous for whatever load is being used.. The fans are relatively quiet and I run all at 100%.

poor design
Bad design. Can't rotate the cooler and some TR50 boards are rotated 90 degrees.Causes poor thermal performance since there's nowhere safe to blow hot air
