Kinda works. Kinda.
The media could not be loaded. It’s a nice looking model. I say model. It will turn some gears and make you think it looks like a fully manipulated, animated sculpture, but it is not. I can clearly see it in the wings and tail. The cam system doesn’t like up correctly, but then again, it’s all made of 100% balsa wood. And toothpicks. I plan on getting the actual dynamic animated display. That can be operated by a motor. The directions are there but very vague. Not enough detail. Only one sided dimensions. If it had more of a blueprint design, it’d be more accurate. I’d say, it wasn’t worth the money. Definitely not for children. Parts are easily broken. You will need fingernail clippers, and or xacto blade for cutting some of the parts out, even though they’re perforated. The wood still has a hard time being removed. Especially the tiny parts. A lot of the nomenclature has not been used. We followed the “directions”!! Oh and you’ll need some wood glue! It’s wood for goodness sakes.I plan on getting the one with real springs, cams, nuts and bolts and screws, articulating joints, and closer tolerance parts. But still it looks extravagant from a distance. The gears rotate and it’s paintable. But meh 😑

Needs work,
Bought as a gift. Material appears to be fine, but instructions are sketchy. Would not buy again. I have built models of a similar design, but figuring out the instructions took a lot of fun out of this one.

Very intricate puzzle.
Pay very close attention to the directions for it to work correctly.

Doesn't move
This item does NOT work as shown. Pivot points on cams and gears are press fit and any motion will cause them to fall off. The Tail is NOT actuated to fan out It is just held in place by friction., WINGS do NOT move except by Manual settings and are also friction fit. The Gears rotate until you mount the bird and that blocks the motion of all else. Assembly instructions are minimal you will have to be a puzzle master The finished product is STATIC , NO MOTION. If you try and make parts move it will fall apart. Some gears use a SQUARE pin and will not turn. YOU will not get the motion shown in the ad . I hope to replace pivot point with steel and real roller bearings that hold. Placement of the crank gear doesn't show on instructions but You can figure it out. Of course it doesn't work either THIS IS A STATIC PUZZLE ONLY DO NOT EXPECT MOTION . I have to say as a Puzzle Its that but NOT A KINECTIC model

Typical Misleading Promotion from China
Looked like a bargain, so I ordered one online. When it arrived from China after a couple of weeks, I was dismayed that the package consisted only of laser-cut plywood pieces (there are probably a couple hundred), and a set of 40 1"x1", highly cryptic photos showing constuction stages. There is no way in Hades this package suffices to build a mechanical hummingbird. However, you can purchase for download a complete set of detailed drawings, material lists, and instructions at derekhugger.com for $99. They describe in detail the additional brass tubing, screws, etc. needed to successfully complete the model. The package alone as received from China is worthwhile (and maybe even a bargain -- the plywood pieces appear to be cut very accurately) only if one wishes to avoid many hours of highly persnicketly woodworking. The Chinese promotion is at best extremely misleading, so 2 stars.

Does not contain all the necessary parts
This does not contain all the parts necessary to complete the project. Instruction are vague and cryptic. The parts they do send seem to be of good quality.

Should be zero star review
Don't buy if you want it to move as advertised.Only buy if you enjoy:Spending hours and hours trying to understand the instructionsBreaking pieces just by using themLooking for pieces that aren't thereUsing bent cocktail sticks for joints and pivotsTrying to get pieces to line upFollowing instructions exactly to find out after 10's of hours that the instructions are nearly right, but wrong enough to make sure that none of the moving parts will move. Here's the remedy - forget the cocktail sticks, use glue instead and make a fairly nice looking static wooden model. Then pick all your pram toys up and put them back because by now they will be everywhere!

Do not buy this
Do not buy this item.1. It is a rip off of an artist who has not sanctioned the work.2. It does not work3. The instructions are not only terrible but also wrong.4. The wood used splits when removing items.5. No indication of where to glue or any glue included.A total rip off.

What instructions?
Looks good, but very poor, almost non existent instructions that quote parts not even included! This one is going to take some working out from the inadequate picture instructions but will give it a go some time. Overall what looks an interesting kit is a let down, far better kits out there for the same money....sorry.
