Pepper mill was non-functional right out of the box. The entire grinding assembly, the actual mill, was not affixed to the body of the shaker and rotated freely without grinding anything!!!Judging by the quality of materials and fabrication, had the pepper mill arrived in a functional state, its life-expectancy could have been measured in days or weeks.The set is supposedly guaranteed for life, but a real Fabrique en Chine piece of junk is not a joy forever, even when covered by a forever warranty!

At first I was reluctant to buy a plastic shakers set; however, after using it my reluctance has diminished. They are every bit as satisfactory as glass with the exception of glass's not breaking and having shards all over. They are light and suitable to leave out. While not beautiful they serve their purpose with not the first problem. I've emptied both two times since getting them and they clean easily and there are not cloudy spots from anything. The salt flows easily but do be careful as it might come out too fast. The mill is just right and adds a little ping of extra taste compared to pre-ground pepper. I try to get fresh pepper corns; however, sometimes old ones have to do in a pinch. No pun intended. Bottom line: For the price and the purpose these are perfect for our needs and work just fine. When necessary I will turn to Trudeau for a replacement set or an additional one.

Purchased these to replace a set I had for years! Love the set a little larger than expected works and fits perfectly in my napkin and daily and mill holder.

These items are even better than I expected. Very good quality. I didn't want the small 4" salt shaker and pepper mill. These are about 7.5" tall and the perfect size. They even came with salt and peppercorns. The only negative is that the salt is loaded from the bottom and has a rubber stopper that will probably wear out. I would have preferred the salt to have a screw on top to load the salt. That is why only a 4 star. Will still purchase again for gifts.

I had it a month and used it only a couple of times and the Pepper Mill stopped working. It looks like the top of the Pepper Mill is stripped. The top turns but it doesn't turn the grinder shaft anymore. I can't believe that I only used it a few times and it is already broken. It appears to be too late to return it. DON'T BUY THIS PEPPER MILL!

I pictured them being a couple of inches taller but being filled already with the salt & pepper took away that pinch of negativity. They look so pretty. Now, I need a new table cloth & napkins to keep them company. The price was perfect, too.

These grinders are big enough to feel good in your hand, strong enough to where they aren't a chore to use when the wife is cooking and they look good. The only thing I don't like is there isn't a cap on them so the grinder is always open. After you get done using them you need to tap them to get the rest of the ground pepper and salt out of them or else you have a pile on whatever it is you set them down on. Better make sure it isn't over whatever your eating or else you'll wind up with a pile on it instead.

They look nice and are easy to use, but the pepper grinder has broken loose from the body on both of them, rendering them useless.

The price is not expensive as far as the competion goes.The FUNCTIONALITY is NOT GOOD!Filling this salt shaker is inconvenient and difficult...(1) You must turn it upside down to regill which causes the salt to flow out of the top! What? Dumb design!(2) The refill plug is too far inside the base and/or the base is too small making it diffiucult to get two fingers inside to remove the plug.Like the look but would not buy again unless they redesign!

I like the looks of this pepper mill and salt shaker and they feel solid and well made. I wish I could get the pepper mill to give me larger pieces. I tried the usual trick to loosen the screw holding the top on, but it didn't work. So the pepper is really fine grind. I'm hoping when it is less full that I can get it to work better for me. The salt shaker is great. Just what you'd want in one.

Which I'm not mad about, but I was picturing something a bit smaller. I'm actually happy with the size, defitnely makes them better value. They came with salt and pepper already in them which I thought was kind of funny. They would definetly make a good gift!

This is a nice set, however I was expecting a salt mill and this is a shaker. The pepper mill is terrific, but the salt shaker allows far too much salt out, I have to be very careful, the first few times I used it my dishes were far too salty.

I was somewhat disappointed when I first took those out of the box. The build is rather cheap and the acrylic was scratched, as if worn all around, probably due to manufacturing. They work alright, but don't look that great. Salt and pepper included to make up for it...Which doesn't. I'd recommend looking into something else...
