A Wonderful, Nostalgic Read
June is the third book in the Life and Soul trilogy. I was hooked after reading Frank and continued to read Jackie followed quickly by June. I found the books took me back to growing up in the next town in Lanarkshire and I recognised many of the places mentioned and could relate to them through the skilled writing of the author. I was in tears at the end of the book which described so beautifully normal working class people with strong values and community spirit. I felt I knew them so well. Please may I have some more!

Fabulous book
Just finished reading the final book June in Julie Hamill’s trilogy. It was another touching book about family and its complexities. The book had me laughing one minute and crying the next. It was a book that I couldn’t put down and I was sad when I finished, it left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what Julie writes next.

All good things come to an end.....
"June" serves as a fitting final chapter to the Life and Soul trilogy. It continues to explore themes of family life, love, and loss all set in the backdrop of a challenging sink estate in Airdrie, Scotland. The Dad; Frank continues to navigate his way around his last few remaining friendships, coupled with the enigmatic visions of his deceased wife, make this book a gripping and emotionally resonant read. The Author cleverly weaves together the realms of the living and the deceased, creating a sense of wonder and mystique, which starts slowly but quickly becomes a fast-flowing river of beautiful literature, which in turns makes it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the story. If you've followed the series from the beginning, "June" will not disappoint, offering a satisfying but teary conclusion to this compelling trilogy.

Takes me back!
The 3rd book in the trilogy. Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous 2 books, Frank and Jackie, I was looking forward to the final part. Enjoyed this one just as much. Working class characters you end up really caring about. Can only hope to hear more about their lives in future even although this is technically the end of the series. Being from Airdrie too it made me feel quite nostalgic for those years again. All 3 books highly recommended.

June
I laughed out loud at the "Bolognese"conversation ,I had a lump in my throat at the "Christening"and I raged at the cosy homophobia of Daniels Da.Julie Hamill is a born storyteller.Id recommend all 3 in the trilogy. An absolute joy.

The end of an era.. or is it the beginning
I had held off reading the final installment as I was feeling sadness around letting these characters go.This is a very fitting end to the aptly named Life and Soul trilogy.I would recommend (and have recommended) all 3 books. If you enjoy a good story well told with relatable characters and recognisable situations then this is the book for you.

Would love a book 4
Totally absorbed in these characters and their lives and loves . Based in my hometown it’s good to be transported back to my youth through the stories and the memories of the town. Only thing is the Workingmens club is The Workmans … everything else is spot on.
