Great Product! High-Volume, Quick Disconnect
I've been using this Coupler (and similar Prevost HIgh Flow Couplings) for about a year now, and I think it's fantastic.NOTE! THIS AND ALL "HIGH FLOW" PREVOST E07 SERIES COUPLERS ARE NOT INERCHANGABLE WITH "1/4-inch-body-Industrial aka Milton M Style" OR "3/8-inch-body-industrial aka Milton G Style"This is very important, because if that's what you expect, you'll be disappointed. What this is, is a 1/4-inch-body, High-Flow-Interchange coupler, aka Prevost E07 Series aka Milton V Style. Note, also that 'coupler body size' and thread/connection/hose size are completely independent. I believe Milton has a pretty good resource for clarifying thisWhy is it awesome?-Prevost E07 Series* (or Milton V Style) Couplers and Plugs have more than 2x flow area than the 'typical' 1/4" Automotive or 1/4" Industrial fittings. More flow area is less restrictive, allowing for more flow, and improved air tool performance. You might not notice if you're just using an HVLP spray gun, or filling tires, but my Pneumatic impact gun is at a whole new level without the two cheap box store 1/4"-body couplers in the way. One photo shows an end-view of the High Flow Interchange/Milton V plug vs the Industrial Interchange/Milton M plug.-The coupler body is barely (if any) bigger than any other 1/4" Body coupler. A Prevost Safety ESI coupler is shown in my photos besides a Prevost Safety ISI coupler in my photos- the blue coupler in the background is this product, ERC-071201, and is even smaller than the ISI coupler. This is especially awesome because in order to get another coupling standard with similar flow properties, you have to step up to a 3/8" Body standard (such as the Milton H Style/Prevost I08 Series 'industrial 3/8' or Milton P Style/Prevost U08 Series 'Automotive 3/8' standards). Stepping up to a larger body series makes the tools heavier, bulkier and more difficult to manipulate/move and use. This matters a lot to me, because I'm not fully able-bodied, so the weight and size savings are excellent.-I put the fact that it's not compatible with 1/4" body fittings as an advantage, that way I can keep my oil-mist hose with the High Flow couplers separate from my Industrial coupler equipped cleaner-air hose for the tools that need air at least through a coalescing filter.-the 1/4" NPT fitting threaded right into my hose end, so I didn't need adaptors/connectors/nipples to make it work!-This is not a 'Safety' coupler- which means that it disconnects quickly and pops off of the plug that is inserted.-This is made by Prevost. Using it, it feels like the gold standard in how couplers should feel in the hand, connect, wear, flow, disconnect and most importantly, SEAL. Legacy (which encompasses a lot of brands, like Flexzilla and Milton I believe) makes decent stuff, but the build quality and design effort in all of Prevost's stuff is superb. For instance, instead of a simple plate at the bottom of the connector, there's a machined piece with fluid pathways to manage turbulence & its effects on flow through the coupler. All in all, this system (Prevost High-flow E07 Series aka Milton V Style) is great, but the quality, flow properties & ease of use of this specific unit is outstanding.(Forgive me if I'm using odd terminology, I haven't found a better way to call this thing, The model number, ERC 071201, indicates E for High Flow, R for regular (not safety), C for single-press composite body, 07 for the diameter of the coupler at the o-ring, and then the 1201 are for this specific female 1/4" NPT connector)

great quick connect with good flow
I have fought with many quick connectors in the past and they all had their pros and cons. this one had the least amount of cons of them all. the only gripe I have with this quick connect is I wish the release button was a little bigger. sometimes its a bit tough to find when working on things and not really paying enough attention to how you are switching tools and you need to feel around for the button a bit more then desired ( if that makes any sense )other then the smaller size button this connector works great. I don't notice any lack of tool performance or lack of flow like other connectors I have tried. it takes abuse pretty well as I have used and abused this connector for almost a year now without it missing a beat. you know how it goes, its a bad habit but every time you disconnect any tool you toss the hose to the ground bouncing the connector off the concrete. with almost a year of doing this and this connector surprisingly doesn't show to much wear and functions as it should still. It has a safety vent feature that when you disconnect a tool it has less pressure trying to shoot the tool across the shop. yes it was fun to launch the small air chuck at your buddy when messing around in the shop but this connector doesn't do that anymore. it has minimal kickback when disconnection a tool now.overall I highly recommend this connector.

Awesome Hi Flo Coupler!
I used to go through 2 of those cheap aluminum hi flo couplers a month in my auto shop. The air hammer shakes em to death. This thing is on month 6 and still takes a beating. Important note this coupler only works with V style not backwards compatible to the standard air fittings found on most tools like some other couplers

Best high flow couplers out there
These are the best and longest coupler out there in my opinion.I have been using other couplers for 35yrs.These might more expensive initially but will out last the other brands so much longer.Buy them you won't be disappointed

Just OK
I bought the Prevost coupler to see how it compares to the Oetiker swing couplers I'm using now. This coupler is much lighter in weight than the Oetiker due to plastic and aluminum in it's construction. The push button releases pressure but not completely so the end of the hose popsout. With a 25 ft 1/4" hose most of the air is released but with a 50 ft 3/8" hose there was still enough pressurized air in the hose to cause it to flip out of the end of the coupler pretty fast. Insertion requires the same force as other couplers but you don't have to push the button.I need couplers that my wife can use easily and with the Oetiker swing couplers the air pressure is completely removed from the hose on insertion and removal. There is a ring on the Oetiker you have to pull and my wife finds that a little hard to do so I tried this with the push button. The push button is easier to disconnect as long as you control the hose you are disconnectiong, but connecting is just as hard as regular couplers. We will continue with the Oetiker.
