Textiles: Basics (Fashion Series)

This is a great book for beginners learning about textiles.

I needed this book for a Fashion class I am taking, and did not want to spend over 100 dollars doing so. This book is fine if you don't care about wear and tare, mine has a bit of writing in it as well as bending and obvious use. Interesting book nonetheless.

When I first received my textbook I noticed that the cover was sliced open but it only got worse when I opened the book. I understand that it's a rental and that it's not going to be new and pristine but when I opened the book for the first time pages and chunks of the book fell out completely. All of the bindings are gone and more and more pages keep trying to fall out. This book should have NEVER been sent out in this condition.

I received this text book in the mail today as a rental.. see pictures for how the book came.How am I supposed to use this as a text book?!

Purchased this book for a Textiles and Designs course. It is so helpful and thorough. The only thing that would make this book better is if it included fabric swatches.

I am a fashion designer student, and I have a teacher that is a textile engineer. He is very, very bad at teaching, so I knew right away that I would need help of books. I couldn't find anything that seemed made for beginners, till I found Textiles: Basics. The book is a complete guide to textiles, from fibers to structure, discussing environmental issues of the industry and giving all the guides needed to care for textiles. The author managed to explain things so well that I am the best student on my class of Textiles. I am veeeeeeeeery pleased with it.
