I suffered through using a screw driver to finish screwing in those last several turns, a simple cordless screw driver that couldn't handle certain tasks, and a drill which is heavy and has the touch of a bulldozer, but none compares to how much you can get done with an impact driver. An impact driver is a mix between a cordless screwdriver with power and a drill with touch. Case in point, a cordless screwdriver is never powerful enough to drive multiple 3" screws and a drill will generally drive a 5/8" screw through a board or drywall if you aren't being careful. The impact driver on the other hand will drive screws with power and when it encounters resistance, will start clicking to let you know that it is about to overdrive the screw. I now take this Ridgid driver everywhere and so should you.

It is a very good product. Shipping it via Fed Ex was not satisfactory.

Cordless driver-drills were a huge step up from the old, corded drills. This impact driver is an equally big step up from the driver-drill. I have both models on my workbench - two drills, two batteries, one charger. Batteries are interchangeable. I don't have to keep swapping drill and driver bits - just pick up the other tool.
