Brand name muffin mix sold at big box stores, with banana flavoring
Mild banana flavor. Breakfast option that is slightly sweet and helps fill in some nutritional protein needs to help power through the day and grow. Got 6 cardboard boxes which were nicely designed. Can be used for muffins or as a loaf.

Big winner!
I jumped at the opportunity to try this Kodiak Cakes Muffin Baking Mix (banana) for my family. Breakfast is always a challenge, as is getting enough protein, so being able to produce quick, healthy muffins seemed like a win. And it was, but with a few side notes.Preparing the mix was straightforward, thanks to easy and clear directions. I didn't make any modifications to the preparation, and even added a mashed banana to each batch (as suggested) and a handful of hemp hearts (because I was out of the suggested walnuts). The batter smelled delicious, which suggested it was well-spiced, so I didn't dare add anything at least for my first test batches. The baking was unproblematic except that, at the recommended temperature, it took quite a bit longer than the suggested 12-15 minutes (more like 20-25) to bake.A panel of three young men declared these "very good" in flavor and texture. One suggested that they were a little light on the spices, and recommended the addition of some more cinnamon or maybe a light streusel topping for the next batch. Overall, they were a definite hit and left my kitchen smelling delicious. I'm not entirely convinced about the protein content, because I can't quite add up the ingredients and see where the manufacturer is getting so much protein, but with the whole grain flour and decided lack of huge amounts of sugar or unnecessary ingredients, I'm satisfied that they are a healthier version of muffin mix anyway. I also like that this product came in a six-pack of mixes, which let me bake multiple batches and freeze some for next week. I'm pleased overall and looking forward to the next round of experimentation to find a filling and nutritious breakfast option for hungry kids.

Great taste!!
Very happy with this high protein muffin. It taste great!!Easy to mix. I scooped the batter with a 1/4 cup ice cream scoop per muffin and it came out to a dozen perfectly.Muffins took roughly 18 minutes to bake in my electric oven.Texture is perfect!Next time I will add a banana to the batter for more flavor, and try to substitute applesauce for the oil.Overall I will make these again and again because of how well they turned out.

Easy to make, add in possibilities are endless.
We got six boxes of these mixes and had no experience with this brand. I am won over. The instructions were very clear. The mixing was easy, the baking was easy, and the eating was delicious. The first mix I made according to the box. Next box, I added 2 very ripe bananas and a little vanilla extract. Yum. Then I followed the suggestion on the box and added chocolate chips and nuts. Still turned out great. I have mixed in a can of mixed fruit and some ginger for a spice cake. The mix is good all by itself without any additions but my family and I like trying new things. I was very satisfied with the product and the ingredients in these mixes. You CAN do these things with a normal cake mix but the flour in them never has enough body to give a good result.Whole grains make a big difference in the results of any baked product.

Just the Thing for Quick, Easy, Tasty and Healthy Banana Muffins
To test this Kodiak Cakes Banana Muffin Baking Mix, we made a batch of muffins according to the simple instructions on the box.Well, almost. We didn’t notice the high-altitude footnote that called for the oven temperature to be set 25°F higher for elevations above 3,000 feet (we live at 4,600 feet), so we ended up baking them for about 20 minutes, rather than 12-15 minutes as per the instructions, until a toothpick came out clean. We also added ¼ cup of Ghirardelli Bittersweet Chocolate Chips to the batter. The results were very good. The muffins rose just enough to create classic tops with attractive cracks, they were solid and hefty when cooled, and they generated very few crumbs when cut and buttered. They had a distinct, grainy whole-wheat texture and a nutty flavor that’s quite pronounced, in a balanced kind of way. To their credit, they’re not very sweet at all, which is a major plus in my book.We almost never use prepared foods, and would never have bought this product if it hadn’t shown up as a free Vine selection, but these muffins were excellent, and almost as good as we could make starting from scratch. I rate them at five stars for their healthy ingredients, ease of preparation and great results for very little effort.

Muffins for Everyone!
This mix turned out very well. We used it to make, wait for it, banana muffins. The flavor is mild, meaning the banana flavor was not strong. The mix itself did not have a strong flavor which was a plus. Everyone gave it the thumbs up. I think the next batch will incorporate additional flavors like blueberries and maybe a batch with some orange zest. The instructions made perfect muffins. We will also try the mix for loaves, with some variations in additions. If you like quick and easy, this mix is for you.

Tasty but not strong flavor
These mixes are super easy to make and bake, plus it offers some mix-in suggestions. They're whole-wheat with added gluten for protein, so they're on the denser side, but still very palatable and tasty. They do taste of banana, but not strongly. They're higher-protein, but it's not like they're made from tuna or something to really pack it in. I made them as mini-muffins and they worked well!
