Gamewright in A Pickle

Can you convince others your argument is reasonable? That’s where the fun begins! We bought 8 to give as Christmas gifts.
Crazy, creative, zany, and fun!We played this game with 5 people; three adults, a 12yr, and a 16yr old boy. Everyone had a blast! BUT, this game is highly subjective and requires convincing others to support your reasoning. The 12 year old wasn’t quite up to par with his older and competitive rivals and thus got a bit discouraged after about an hour. The basics are simple. All cards have objects printed on them ex: House, Box, Shoe, etc. On your turn play a card from your hand on one of the four play piles. The item on your card must be small enough to fit into whichever item is on top of the play pile.Example A: If the play pile card is “box” and you had a card in your had that read “key” you could place your “key” on the “box” because a key can fit into a box. That’s an easy one (no one’s going to argue a key won’t fit into a box). But here’s where it gets tricky. Example B: “Phone booth” is on the play pile and you place “Skyscraper” on the “Phone booth.” Does a “Skyscraper” fit into a “Phone booth?” That’s the question you must argue and your fellow players vote to accept or reject your argument. You might argue that the “Skyscraper” is a photo postcard and therefore a postcard of a "skyscraper" could fit into a “Phone booth.” Will you win that argument? That is the question.Players must convince others that their choice is logical and that’s where things get interesting…and fun...and creative. Set the ground rules right from the beginning so there are no misunderstandings or hurt feelings. While the game says you can play with 2 people, I’ve played with three people and it wasn’t as fun. I’d say 4 to 6 is ideal. We bought 8 of these games to give as Christmas gifts!

Can be used by Speech-Language Pathologists doing language therapy, especially for middle school aged students.

We like it!
My family loves board games and this is a great addition to our collection. Our daughter is 9 and really enjoys playing the game with us. We usually have 3 players, but I'm sure it would be fun with additional players too.It has pretty simple and straightforward game play, but critical thinking is required and lots of laughs usually ensue.

fun for everyone
I really enjoy this game. Played it for the first time at a Christmas party and have now brought it home to play with friends and family at other social events. The game is G rated and fun for all ages (sometimes the little kids are the funniest part of this game). You really have to use your imagination to convince everyone that your answer is valid and justify your winning. I would definitely recommend this game, and I would buy again from this seller.

Fun game for all ages
In A Pickle is essentially a card game about sizes. Each card has an object on it (necklace, photo, puppy, universe, basket, etc.) and players take turn playing cards from their hand that the current card could fit inside of. The basic premise of this game is simple enough for young children to understand (a child can easily determine that a puppy can fit in a basket, but not in a necklace) but has the opportunity for creativity to make it fun for players of all ages (you think you've won the hand by saying the basket is in the universe only to have the next player say the universe is in a photo). You can also plead your case as to why your card makes sense (a universe can fit in a necklace if it's a really tiny universe like on Men in Black) and its up to the rest of the players to decide if they like your logic or not. It's usually about 20 minutes to play (it might be more or less depending on how many players you have and how many cards have to be justified and decided on) making it a quick fun game for players of all ages.

start your next family argument with a game
Fun game. Good for a competitive family that needs something to argue over (while laughing of course). Can't wait for thanksgiving should be fun

Good multi-age game
This is the compact version. The family size comes with more cards and a cardholder. It is pretty easy to learn while playing, even for mid-older elementary school kids. We had fun playing with words to justify how a word could be defined as “in” another word.

Great Game for Family Night
We play this game all the time for family game night, and all my kids love it. Even my 5 year old gets in on playing it. The concept is simple, but the thought process can be complex, and result in some fun arguments as well. We also play it with our friends who loved it so much they purchased it as well.

Excelente opción para jugar con amigos y familia.
Una idea de juego original y divertido, no es el clásico juego con dados, fichas y preguntas. Un juego que las instrucciones no las tomas literales.

Not worth the money
The game was too confusing for the kids (8,8,&10), the teens (17,17&19) and for us!!The kids use the cars to build cars houses instead.

fantastic!
