Well worth the effort... AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE
Let me start off by saying that it has been a rollercoaster ride with this mattress. Okay, so why the 5 stars, you ask? Well, I will tell you why. When it arrived, everything was great. It was packaged well. Vacuumed sealed so tight I didn't think it would ever unroll right. I gave it the full 72 hours to inflate. That's when the problems occurred. At 75 hours, the mattress had barely inflated to 8 inches. For reference, I bought the 10-inch. And I know sometimes that the measurements can be a bit off, so I considered it my fault for being such a cheap arse and not forking out for the 12 or 14. My reasoning: I was gonna get a topper at some point and I don't want to be like Princess and tf-ng Pea in a room with a low ceiling.I waited another day. Measured again. No sign of movement. I tried to contact the seller and, well anyone who has tried doing anything on Amazon knows how wonderful that is. Instead of giving me the seller, it sent me ring around the rosy with processing a return. I cannot tell you how many times I made it clear that I did NOT want to send it back and I did NOT want a refund. I only wanted help in trying to resolve this issue myself. I felt it was something that could be fixed. If it came to it, then we could talk about credits or refunds. This went on for over an hour. I finally managed somehow to be taken to the manufacturer's website and, once again went through the drama of "No, I don't want to return it and I don't want a refund. I just want help." I finally reached a human being at some point. A person by the name of Maverick contacted me and suggested I set the mattress on the floor and roll around or walk on it a bit. Apparently, sometimes the memory foam doesn't want to decompress all the way. These actions tend to help.I wrote back to him every time there was movement. 9 inches. 9.5 inches. I was so excited the day after my roommate slept on it that it got all the way up to 10 inches inflated! I immediately fired off a note to Maverick to let him know and to thank him for the suggestions. He was patient and told me exactly what needed to be done and why. It never even occurred to me that sometimes memory foam just "be that way" and you have to sort of give it a boost. All that said, I've been sleeping on it now for about a month. It's probably the most firm memory foam I've ever owned, and I probably could have done well with one a bit squishier, but this is fine. I got exactly what I ordered. I'm not gonna complain about that.I don't see any evidence of fiberglass, as mentioned in another review. Of course, I don't ever intent to remove the protective cover and will instead have one on top of it at some point. It being several inches more shallow than other mattresses I've owned, let me just tell you know... it puts them to shame! My previous mattress, same brand, was a 12-inch and not nearly as firm. It had edge issues where you'd fall to the floor if you weren't careful. I don't see that being an issue with this one. It's fairly sturdy sitting on the edge and I imagine that if I had access to the corners they would be the same #sleighbed. And my previous mattress, you could feel the metal slats underneath every freaking time you turned. It was awful. I had to put sheets of plywood down to keep from being gored in the night. With this mattress though?? I don't feel a dang thing. Granted the slats on this bed are wooden and not metal, even when I pounce on the bed, I don't feel a thing - just snuggliness.I'm waiting for my bed to break if I do that again though - for reference, I'm about 345lbs. Do you have any idea what that does to a bed if you just pounce on it like a lion on the Serengeti? Apparently, nothing (knock on wood). The mattress absorbs the impact. I would be confident with dropping an egg from a skyscraper onto this mattress. That is how awesome it is.It didn't have any sort of weird odor when I removed it from its wrapping. The only thing that sort of made it difficult to get any help was that the date of manufacture was missing from the tag when I was trying to get assistance from the manufacturer. If anyone has to deal with that, just take a picture of the tag anyway to prove that it is blank. It'll help you out in the long run.If I'm ever in the market for a mattress again any time soon, I am definitely purchasing this one - as long as it's available. I can sleep at night. It doesn't aggravate my low back pain or even my hip pain. I'm actually grateful it isn't as squishy as I would like because then my problem would be never wanting to get out of bed. Heck, even with my weight (when lying down) I barely sink into the mattress. And at least now I can wake up in the morning and go about my day without feeling as though my body has been hit by a truck and all I want to do is stay in bed. Very happy with this purchase!

Where to begin...
First, this is not my first rodeo, having purchased a memory foam bed in a box 12 years ago, the mattress having a 10 year warranty, so not bad, right? A different brand, also a queen folded and rolled in a box roughly 42"x15" and weighed 97 lbs!I purchased this queen in the supposedly environmentally-friendly cardboard box roughly 63"x12"--I didn't measure it but a queen mattress is 60x80 and there was a little extra room. The box was the thickest cardboard I've ever seen and a bear to cut up small enough for our local recycling pickup. Then there was the issue of the massive amount of plastic wrapped around the mattress, not recyclable locally, and much more than my first mattress. The new mattress also was harder to unbox, in part due to the length and tight fit.Once I got the outer plastic off, mattress rolled out, and grabbed my scissors, I started cutting around the edge expecting the nearly violent expansion the first mattress had. This one was well behaved and I had it unwrapped in no time as it slowly inflated. It was nearly 10 inches in about 20 minutes, not bad. I didn't plan on using it that night anyhow, but I could have. After the next night I was a bit disappointed because the mattress was not as firm as I liked. Tolerable, anyhow. Night #2 was better, but it was still soft particularly on the edges. Third night was the charm, as just sitting on the edge I could tell it was solid now!

Great Purchase
My mattress was old and uncomfortable. I waited too long to buy a new one. My brother and sister-in-law have this one and loved it so I gave it a chance too. I also love it. It's so comfy. Even my super picky boyfriend likes the mattress. My back and neck problems are not gone but I do feel much better when I wake up in the morning.

Five Year Review
I purchased this mattress (12" Queen) in early 2020. After five years, I figured I would finally provide a review.INITIAL OBSERVATIONS:You do not need to spend $4,000+ for a decent quality mattress. What matters most are the materials used in the construction of the mattress and your own preferences of size, cooling, firmness, and other features. Keep in mind this is my own experience with this mattress over five years. The mattress arrived in a box. Packaging held up well. At the time that I ordered, there was no "white glove" or similar delivery option, so my package was placed at the foot of my stairwell. I can't fault the delivery driver for not delivering to my front door since I lived on the fourth level of a walk-up and the mattress itself is quite heavy. Just be aware that if you have a similar living situation and do not see an option for in-home or in-room delivery, you may want to have one other person help you with set-up.Opening the packaging, including the plastic wrapping that protected the mattress during storing and transport, was easy but nerve-racking due to the extreme pressure of the contents. Be sure you have the packaging in the exact spot you intend to place the mattress and that no lose objects are nearby as things could go flying once opened. No insects or signs of wear and tear were noticed. The mattress appeared brand new (as expected). The mattress took about 48 hours to fully "form" and seemed slightly taller than 12". The cooling effect was not noticed compared to other mattresses that purportedly have this feature. The off-gassing (odor from newly opened mattress-in-a-box) process lasted for no more than one week and the odor wasn't terrible during this time. Be sure to air out the room the mattress is in for at least a few days if the odor bothers you. Also keep in mind that this is normal for mattresses in boxes. The mattress was very firm for at least one year with nightly use by one single male (6'0", 180 lbs). The mattress gradually softened over time. Mattress protector and bedding may have slowed the softening process.FIVE YEAR OBSERVATIONS:After five years, I can say this mattress was an excellent value. A quality mattress protector is HIGHLY recommended for any mattress and this was no exception. The outer cover that comes with the mattress is not necessarily a mattress protector and is likely not water proof or even resistant. The brand claims that no fiber glass was used as part of this mattress but many similar mattress do use fiber glass. I do not recommend taking this cover off of the mattress since dealing with loose fiber glass is a nightmare and difficult to resolve effectively. Most bedding purchased over the years fit the mattress just fine and I never had issues with fitted sheets or protectors slipping off.No excessive loss of firmness or sagging was observed with regular, nightly use. The edges are still firm and no degradation of materials was noticed. Since there are no springs, noise levels are low to non-existent.This mattress has survived at least three moves with no issues. Cleaning the mattress was not necessary for me due to always using a mattress protector. However, baking soda and a vacuum are all you need to refresh your mattress if necessary. Flipping or rotating this mattress has not been necessary for me but your experience may vary depending on use.Sleep quality has been fine. No soreness or discomfort was experienced that could be attributed to the mattress itself. If sharing this mattress, you should not feel the movements of another person depending on their size and proximity to you. I never felt like I sunk into the mattress. This mattress lived atop wooden slats on a metal frame. Firmness can change slightly depending on what the mattress sits on. It is unknown (to me) if the mattress is compatible with adjustable frames. Why Not Five Stars?Rarely does a person find the perfect mattress. There are too many variables involved. A lot goes into the manufacturing of mattresses and there are many kinds. Quality can vary greatly and many features are purely marketing. This is a solid mattress for the price and is great for when moving out on your own for the first time or for a spare bedroom. This is a perfect mattress for those who prefer firm to very firm. Many of my guests commented on the firmness of the mattress, indicating that they did not like the firmness. However, I preferred the firmness.Since there are no springs/coils, there is practically no bounce. Keep this mind for intimate times with a partner. The mattress does not seem to provide any "cooling" despite what is advertised. Therefore, you may want to avoid this mattress if you get hot while sleeping. Bedding can potentially help with this, though (cooling and breathable mattress protector, low thread count (<200) natural fiber sheets (NO POLYESTER OR SIMILAR), alpaca duvet, etc.). I regularly got too hot during sleep, even with the room cool (60-70 degrees Fahrenheit). This mattress is finally being retired into a guest room as I upgraded to a mattress made of better materials. I don't intend to get rid of the mattress anytime soon and suspect it will last at least another 5+ years with no issues.Hopefully this review helps you decide on a mattress. Mattress shopping can be very involved and stressful since there are so many options, many of which are costly. Best advice for the shopping process is to try mattresses in-person where possible.
