Higuchi J 1005 - 50 Watt Double Ended Halogen Light Bulb, 78mm, 120-130 Volts

Quicker delivery than stated and a great price!

Many vendors sell these, I bought mine from Light Bulbs Etc. The bulbs were a great price (under $2 each) and I really like the fact that they are 50W. My local hardware store didn't carry any of these lower than 100W, and were several times more expensive. These 50W bulbs were perfect low-lighting for my theater room lights, plus they operate at a much lower temperature than the 100W bulbs I used to have in my fixtures. I feel safer.I have ordered these on 2 occasions. Each time they arrived very quickly and well packed. Out of the 12 that I received, 2 were defective (they either already had broken filaments, or the filaments burned out as soon as I turned them on, without even a pop or flash). That defect rate seems a bit higher than I'd normally want, but the company I ordered from (Light Bulbs Etc.) were EXTREMELY QUICK AND RESPONSIVE about sending replacements without any hassle and without me having to return the bad bulbs.[Edit: 56 months after original purchase: For the most part, the bulbs are still going strong. Only one more has burned out since my original review. These bulbs are in use several days a week, for several hours. And plenty of short off-and-on as I go in and out of that room, also.]

I've gotten used to a white light that LEDs put out and besides these things using 50w each and I have 3 of them in this particular fixture, it's still not enough light and it's yellow in color. I've got to figure out how to get a LED fixture to replace this one.

This is exactly what I needed. I have brighter bulbs for this lamp but they were too intense. This feels like something between 25W and 40W. Great if you need warm low light, which I do. Well packaged. Super deal and hard to find. Shipped and received fast too.

Several came with broken filaments. I would not use them again.

Well, I don't like it so far. Put in the bulb and it worked the first day. Next day it didn't. I thought my lamp fixture was misbehaving. After a few days of testing the lamp fixture, I finally decided to remove and examine the bulb. Filament obviously broken. I've made a request to return it. Seems the only option is to get a refund, although I'd be willing to go for a replacement and hope the next one lasts. I do want a 50W bulb and this is the only one I could find. Also don't know if I'm going to get hit with return shipping costs, even if the vendor "approves" the return. Keep watching...

Purchased a couple of these bulbs recondition a couple of flood lights with some low power bulbs so that I could walk around in my lawn at night. They are hard to find. Worked very well - no problems - will buy again if have the need.

I looked every where to find this type of a bulb at this wattage. I even had my electricians check at supply houses, no luck.The light output is not that great because its 50 watts, but I needed to replace these in a cheaply manufactured light fixture and reduce wattage from 100 watts to these because the 100 watts got to hot.They arrived on time, and are still working months later, so all is good!
