The included tool made removal of old filter a snap. Much easier and safer than needle nosed pliers. The filter is a perfect replacement for OEM.

The small filter holder is made of plastic.I hired a plumber to flush my Rinnia. He tried to remove the small filter with pliers and broke it.I then purchased the removal kit and the job was easy.Buy one and put it with your flushing pump ready for next time .Do it yourself. It’s easy and you will save $350 and not give it to a guy who doesn’t know what he is doing.There are plenty of them around to take your money!Good luck

purchase this tool, along with two additional ones found on eBay. The two additional from eBay failed immediately but this one worked flawlessly. It is now in my flush toolbox where it will remain! Nice Tool thanks guys.

Had to purchase another as it leaked

Picture shows the inline filter for my Rinnai RU80 tankless water heater. Removing and cleaning the filter is a very simple job, aptly described on YouTube. Those videos show folks messing up the filter removal with channel-lock pliers or trying to use needle-nose pliers. This little tool fits like a glove into the filter cap with a slot to hold the tabs. Although it should not normally take a wrench to remove the filter, at least it's an option without screwing up the filter--though, if you do or it's needed, one is included.
