TLDL-GREAT customer service, hassle free refundThis is going to be long, but I think it's important.To start, in general, this is an adorable gift and addicting to play with. It worked just fine for one day. Even got my friends to play with it, etc etc.However, at some random point in the day, while it was sitting on my shelf, fortunately not facing my expensive Xbox and laptop, it randomly exploded. Literally exploded. Toxic smelling chemical and ferro fluid went all over the wall and some of my electronics. Fortunately nothing appears damaged.I can't imagine what exactly caused the explosion, especially considering that the glass container it is contained in is quite thick and robust feeling. Whatever the cause, I don't think anyone should buy this without some assurance that defects have been resolved.All that said, however, the company immediately issued a refund. No return required(obviously being broken glass and chemical), no proof or any other hassle. While I appreciate that, I can't imagine how horrible some other customers experience may have been. I've seen some reviews after the fact of it exploding in someone's hand. This product is dangerous for reasons I don't know. If it's random defects and not all of them do that, it may not be worth rolling the dice.I believe that as easily as the company was in handling refunds that they may be amenable to solving defects or are already working on it. I think a recall or suspension of selling products would be a better solution, lest someone suffer serious injury or worse.

The media could not be loaded. I have had one of these without the color for years and it's one of my fave toys. My grandkids can't keep their hands off of it so they are each getting one for Christmas. It is not only beautiful and mesmerizing, it shares an endless array of 3-D organic patterns.You won't get the image in the photo with the magnet they provide. I recommend getting something wider. Then play with it from both sides of the bottle. or try a bar magnet or several... I can hardly put this thing down!I love love love this thing!!!

I purchased this for a family member who is a magnet enthusiast! He opened the package and was playing it using the small magnet it came with. All of sudden, not even an hour out of the box, and DISASTER struck. The glass bottle exploded in his hands, sending ferrofluid and oil everywhere. It was almost as if the glass bottle disintegrated! Needless to say, it made for a less than thrilling gift giving experience!

This moves around line a symbiote from Venom, which my son reminds me of frequently. Very cool way to study magnetism and have some fun at the same time.

Don't leave magnet attached though, it will leave a residue on inside of glass that doesn't come off.

Purchased as a present for my 12 year old. While using the magnet against the glass container, the container shattered while he was holding it. Thankfully, he was not cut but it made a huge mess, staining his desk, floor, and clothes.
