Well, what can I say? This kindling splitter has lived up to its name and then some. I have a Solo Stove Yukon on our back patio that seldom gets use because we never have kindling. This log splitter is perfect! You just throw in a piece of firewood and then smack it with the hammer that was included and it splinters into nice small pieces that light easily. As the weather warms up come spring time and we can spend more time outside this will surely make our experience much more pleasant. I would recommend this to anyone that needs it!

Absolutely perfect manual splitter. Its self-explanatory on how to use it. Within 10 minutes I split multiple pcs of wood, stretching out supply. A flat concrete surface is a must. Only negative, I wish it was about 6 inches taller.

Easy to use

I've only used this once so far, but it was much easier and more fun than the old way! I set it up on a concrete tile and split 16" eucalyptus pieces about 3-4 inches in diameter without tons of effort. The one odd thing is that the bolts that hold the top part on seem too long - lock washers won't let you tighten it down. There are a couple of pieces of rubber covered metal that aren't listed as official parts, so I thought they were packing material, but will try using them to close that gap. If I'm missing something and you see this review, please comment?

The splitter works well for wood as shown in their video, but those pieces are branches perhaps 4” in diameter. Trying to split larger pieces is another matter and takes considerable effort and often fails. Using it on a hard surface such as a driveway and with larger pieces often results in the bolts coming loose from vibration and having to stop and reassemble the splitter. The small maul included in the kit also seems inadequate on larger pieces of wood and perhaps a regular splitting maul would make a difference in those cases. Good for limited use, but expensive for those circumstances.

Great item and good price

This device makes it easy to split wood. You make it sturdy and then begin. Put the piece in and split it. I tried it and then my 70 year old father also used it with ease. Good purchase.

I got this because I don't own an axe to split lumber. We do have bonfires outside occasionally which usually meant buying a pre-cut soggy bag of wood from a local store.As long as the log fits inside the splitter there's very little skill in swinging a hammer to split the wood. There's less waste and cleanup than using a chainsaw and it's a lot less work than trying to saw logs in half. If you have a good axe this is likely redundant, but it's a nice to have item for the starting the occasional fire by the pool.
