I have one of the BIG blue rolls of foil from Costco and it is bloody heavy!! So I wanted to keep it out but it is not attractive at all...and has an exposed VERY sharp cutting edge... so I went hunting. And found these. Believe me I looked & looked trying to find something that was pretty, functional AND big enough to hold the 1000' rolls of foil. This filled the bill. They are pretty, well made & they work.At first the foil would not roll & kept tearing off... then I read the instructions.. well DUH!!!You have to remove the 2 black (on mine) plastic end pieces that allow the foil to rotate in the original box and put them in the bamboo dispenser. Which makes total sense since the diameter of the center hole that allows them to spin freely would be different sizes on different brands of foil. The end pieces are not glued in the original box & they just slide out. Then you slide them into the bamboo dispenser. Mine needed an edge trimmed off of one side so they would fit exactly into the dispenser BUT it was the work of a minute with a utility knife. SUPER easy... just cutting along the right angle on only one side & that was enough to make it fit exactly in the dispenser. It looks beautiful and works. The roll spins freely. I am loving it... My only complaint is I had to order 2 of them... (no stars off, just a comment) but I have an extra for the future. I could have used them both and put a big roll of plastic wrap in the second one BUT I have a built in drawer dispenser for the plastic wrap and the big rolls of plastic wrap are MUCH smaller & lighter than the 1000' foil is. SUPER happy with my purchase!!!

I have been using two of these bamboo foil holders for a little more than a month. The bamboo holder is cut well, is smoothed on the edges and polished well. The only issue is the aluminum foil sometimes gets stuck on the sliding cutter, because it isn't sharp enough for the aluminum foil. Maybe there should be an option to have a metal abbrasive ripping strip for aluminum foil.

The box itself is slightly too big for our kitchen, it doesn't fit in any of the dawers, and is too long to fit in any cabinet. The original Costco box for the plastic wrap and aluminum foil did, but it was hard to control the amount of product being dispensed. The size isn't the fault of the product - it's listed clearly. It just makes it slightly less convenient, but not as inconvenient as the crummy Costco package.It seems well constructed enough and we've been using it for over a month now.
