I have the Hill style fine tuner on both my violins. Two major advantages over other types of fine tuner.First, nothing is sticking down below the tailpiece to possibly scuff or ding the instrument.Second, the afterlength is the same on all strings, and not shortened. String afterlength (the length between the bridge and the connection to the tailpiece) does affect the harmonics; having a correct afterlength adds depth to the sound.
