SilverStone SST-GD06B - Grandia HTPC Micro ATX Computer Case, Silent High Airflow Performance, 2x 3.5 Inch Hot Swap Drive Bay, lockable, black

Built my Media PC in this case and it sits under the telly next to the sky box, ps3 etc. Have had it for coming on to 2 years now and I have to say that I am extremely impressed with it. Not changed any of the cooling from stock and if you pair it with a quiet PSU then its very, very quiet. My PSU is a little noisy but doesnt infringe on any movies, music etc so its not a problem. I have a Z77 gigabyte Mobo in it and also an asus 550ti. The GPU just about fits. Maybe a millimeter of clearance so bear that in mind if getting a separate GPU. for example the 670 AMP i have in my PC build would definitely not fit. The build itself was easy. Cable management was a little tricky but make sure you plan ahead and also dont buy a mamoth PSU and you'll be fine. The only slight negative (and no reason for it to lose a star) is that the blue halo light on the front to indicate power is super bright. Ive gotten used to it now but it did take a while. Still bothers me every now and again so I might open it up one day and disconnect the light. On a more positive note. The uild quality is excellent and it really does look and feel good to the touch. The front drops down in a smooth motion and the hot swappable bays work very well and i have used one to add another hard drive and it really was a 3 second push it in and shut the door affair. If your looking for a htpc build i cant recommend this enough. However, this will not be good for a gaming rig or anything like that.

Great solid case for an HTPC. Not the cheapest but neither were the alternatives. It sits just nicely under my tv unit. I used this for an i5 3700k build. Was a bit overkill for an HTPC but I wanted it to be as powerful as my budget could afford so I needed a case with plenty of space for cooling and future upgrades but at the same time look good in my living room. This case does exactly that.

Because it's relatively compact for what it can pack it does take some time to mount the components inside and to route the cables, but it has got a very good internal layout in terms of making the best use of the available space. You need to pick your components carefully though, because there are several size-constraints, mainly for the PSU and GFX. It takes four 3.5inch HDDs plus at least one 2.5 drive, so it's perfectly suited for a media PC and a NAS 2in1. My only two complaints are that the fans are way too loud for a media PC at the default voltage and they will not start at 5V, which means they require a power regulator to operate quietly, which they do at about 7V. I also wish Silverstone had not saved on the plastic frame surrounding the aluminium faceplate, as it looks super-cheap when placed next to even some basic audio components, e.g. an amplifier that costs the same as this case alone. Also, the faceplate lock is meant to protect the two hot-swap HDDs and as such should have rather been placed under that plate, to lock HDD latches, so that it wouldn't unnecessarily spoil the looks of the front of the case.

Bought for my HTC upgrade, plenty of space for all your components and importantly for me a full size GPU. Excellent cooling as well, teamed up with some Akasa Vipers and a fan controller its silent and has temps that i'm happy with (my old case got a bit too warm at points for my liking). The only complaint I had was that the provided fans were useless, barely moved any air at all. I love the design of the power button on the front, great bit of design and the LED brightness is just right, it doesn't light the room up like some.

The drive cage is fixed to a panel which is horizontally mounted but unless the installed PSU is really small, the drive cage is either blocked by cables or is forcing them into a bad angle Overall, if I hadn't got so far down the line building a HTPC into this case before I ran into problems, I would have returned it. I suggest that potential buyers avoid this case.

There simply is no room for the cables to go, because of this one of the central beams has bent, meaning I can't put the lid on anymore. Thankfull its on a top shelf so I've left it as it is. As the other review said, one of the front panel cables is unecessarily short. It looks good from the front. The two case fans are much too loud, so I've disconnected them. The stock fan on the AMD chip is absolutely silent and more than adequate. As I have it, I'll be keeping this, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Très beau boitier, finition impeccable. Bref c'est de la qualité. Les ventilateurs sont un peu bruyants quand le pc travaillent beaucoup. Faites attention à votre carte graphique (j'ai eu le tour), j'ai une GTX 660 Ti avec l'alimentation sur les cotés (non derriere la carte) et il y a une barre au milieu qui gene, j'ai du plié au maximum les connecteurs et forcer un peu cette barre pour la clipser!

It's a good looking case, perfectly fine for your TV stand. This case can be somewhat of a pain to assemble and requires some time, but overall it's well thought out product with plenty of space. This is likely my own oversight, but originally I was under the impression that it would have 4x 3,5" spaces by itself with an additional 5,25" drive space - but it turns out that the 5,25" space is also reserved for the 4th HDD. I'll count this as my personal error. Default case fans use a molex power connector, so make sure you have your PSU cable ready for that.

Por el tamaño que tiene se adapta perfectamente a mis necesidades. Cumple su función y muy cómoda a la hora de montar todos sus componentes.

Hallo, ich komme gleich auf den Punkt! Freunde die ihre teuere Hardware sicher und gut belüftet in einem Wohnzimmer unterbringen wollen, sind hier genau richtig. Habe eine GTX 480 und einen Intel 2600k CPU eingebaut, Netzteil und Festplatten sind Super untergebracht und dank Serienmäßig 3x120mm Lüfter gibt es überhaupt keinen Hitzestau. Dieses Gehäuse ist einfach gut durchdacht und man sieht Silverstone die Erfahrung in diesem Bereich an. Einzig und allein ist der CPU-Kühler (wegen der höhe) ein Problem, wenn man einen DVD oder Blu-Ray Player einbaut, wobei der Scythe-Shuriken hier sehr gelegen kommt. Was noch Nennenswert ist, ist die Tiefe von gerade mal ca35cm., dadurch Hervorragend geeignet für Lowboards oder TV-Schränke. Fazit: Uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung
