Vic Firth 5B Kinetic Force Drum Sticks

I bought these to compare them to standard VF stick and see if there really was a difference. It turns out there really is a difference. When using these sticks back to back with standard VF sticks these feel much more solid and have no vibration.To me the vibration is the key difference. The bounce and sound of the stick on the cymbals and drums is pretty much the same. The difference is that there is little to no vibration in the stick. The fact is though, if you're only a casual player it likely won't make much difference. If you play a lot, and for long periods when you do these could make a serious difference in fatigue. Allowing you to play longer more comfortably.So the issue come down to cost benefit. I think they are worth it for very dedicated players who play a lot and play for long periods. For casual players I really don't think there is much benefit to them and they will only cost you more money.Either way though, they are every bit as good as standard VF sticks so if you just want to try them out you really can't go wrong.

Hello Fellow Drummers! I have been playing for nearly a year and been taking lessons now for 6 months. I have bought and tried a lot, seriously, a lot of different brands and types of sticks. Since drumming has so many different styles and no one drummer is quite the same- all the equipment just boils down to 2 things: quality and personal preference. I play on both an electronic set and an acoustic set, these sticks work wonderfully on both. Out of all the sticks I've tried these are by far my favorite. After long practice sessions they still feel comfortable and in control. They are gorgeous, perfectly weighted and durable. I have noticed a definite increase in speed with them. I will continue to use and buy these as long as they are around. The only thing I would love more is if they came in an "Extreme 55B" model :-)

A little longer and they’d be perfect. The metal is only 1” long but provides so much weight. I ran a high power magnet to it.

These are some amazing drumsticks. All they added was a little metal in the base but it makes a world of difference. The weight distribution is just perfect. They effectively moved the center of mass of the drumstick closer to you so that you have beautiful control on speed and momentum AND a faster, lighter bounce
