1. If you have 3.5mm audio jacks on your computer use that. The sound quality is certainly not better than the on board audio on your computer. 2. Yes. I plugged it into a USB port, windows found it right away, installed drivers and all I had to do was choose it as the default audio device.

Will it work with a sony f-v610 mic and a macbook air 2019?

If the mic has a 3.5mm output that connects to this adapter, it should work fine. I've not had any issue with any mic I've connected and also outputs from mixer boards. With an Apple laptop these devices are pretty much plug and play. I have the MacBook Pro 2018 and it just works
