Great quality and comfy boots.
Have had 8 or so pairs of Merrell walking boots over the years. I always wear them out quickly. Although these took a little longer to ‘rax in’ they are my favourite boots now.Bought as you can’t get Ridgepass Mid anymore unfortunately.

Great lightweight sturdy walking boots.
Bought these walking boots for my husband as I have been wearing the female version for about 18 months and have been completely satisfied. He loves them. They are really comfortable and sturdy despite being lightweight. Also they are a very good looking boot. Not bulky looking. Very good value for money

Great boot when you get a good one!
Really good boots at a good price. Time will tell on durability. I had to return a pair (Amazon wardrobe deal). Heel blisters and a raised seam inside boot on the heel. Spoke to Merrell they said to return to retailer for a replacement pair. No problem with Amazon here refunded and exchanged. The new pair were better as soon as i put them on. They are a great responsive fit - lightweight with support that gets better as you wear them. They are waterproof. However be mindful that you may feel that they are leaking because of temperature. When submerged - water will go through the mesh but is held at Gortex layer. This will stay there. A simple check of sock confirms they are dry. Grips are great on rock and in muddy conditions. However will slip on wet granite payments - but these primarily hiking boots not approach shoes. All in all great boots!

size guide for merrell moab mid boot based on new balance 574 trainers fit.
This might help someone, im size 8uk in safety shoes , good slackish fit.size 9uk in a new balance 574 trainer wearing a thin sock., fits like a glove. Most roomy dress shoes a size 8uk, comfortable fit.I read up on these merrell moab mid boots to try and determine fit. Most reviews veer towards being slightly small.i ordered the size 9, wearing with a bridgedale trekker mid weight sock. I thought initially they were slightly roomy but after 3 or 4, 5 mile walks they actually fit like a glove, didnt slacken off and get roomier but actually moulded to feet and tightened up slightly. with a thin sock id say theyd be very slightly slack.to sum up id say the uk size 9 is nearer a true uk 8.5, they are a fairly wide fit, roomy toebox. If you wear new balance 574 trainers and are intending wearing a thick sock take same size as trainers. if wearing a thin sock take a half size less than your trainers and you will get perfect fit. only helps if you you know your size in new balance 574 but they are a very common trainer so will help somebody.

Splendid stuff
Still going strong. Most reliable brand for my feet/walking style I've found.

No very durable. I probably won't buy Merrell again.
This is an update to my original review from 17 August 2021After 18 months of relatively light use in the Suffolk countryside these boots are starting to fall apart. The Vibram sole is still fine and hardly shows any sign of wear. However, the material used for the uppers is starting to perish and detach from the sole. In addition, there's a split in one of the toe caps. I think this is down to the use of cheap, poor quality materials. These Merrell boots don't appear to be any better than budget brands and are not made to last. Perhaps that's all consumers expect these days. Personally I'm old fashioned and expect good walking boots to last longer, much longer. I guess if that's what I want I'll have to find a quality brand and expect to pay a higher price. Contrast to my lovely leather Meindls which after 2 years look and feel almost as good as new.Original review belowAmazon have nagged me into submitting a review after one week of owning, therefore these are first impressions only.As others have said, consider going half a size larger than your expected fit. I ordered two pairs; one my normal size 11 and one size 11.5. The 11.5 arrived first and was a good fit, so I cancelled the 11 because it would have been a bit tight.I've only done a couple of 2 hour walks on cool summer mornings but so far the boots feel quite comfortable.I'm not totally convinced by the Gortex linings hype and I've yet to experience a boot of this type which I'd call waterproof. I walked through some dewy grass and, whilst my feet didn't get soaking wet, the moisture was clearly starting to seep through by the time I got home. However, the Gortex and synthetic linings will no doubt make the boot feel clammier on warmer days!I'm a bit concerned by the fabric eyelets which don't look as durable as quality metal eyelets and the lacing system doesn't feel as solid as on my pricier Meindls. This is down to cost cutting I guess, which is a shame. The Vibram sole seems decent, with good grip in the damp.I think they're a reasonable mid range boot but I would only buy at a good discount to the retail list price.

Comfy and nice to wear
Bought a half size up from my normal size as recommended and that was the right thing to do. These are quite light weight so they are very comfy and nice to wear. I am very happy with these boots.

Purchased for my husband who is very hard on hiking boots. Can't go wrong with Merrill and the price is a huge bonus. Far less than the local shops
