I have used H&R Block tax software for several years now, and it does a good job.It fairly easy to install and use. I do not like to file my taxes online and/or in-the-cloud. I prefer to keep in all local.Remember, the Internet data is almost there forever!They used to sell the tax software on CDs in retail stores or online, not anymore. You buy it online and download it to your computer.I had a problem issue with the H&R web site, so I bought it on Amazon instead. Much better!My taxes are not super complicated so I typically don’t need the deluxe versions.But I do have some investments. So when you purchase this software next year, make sure to buy a version that can handle your particular tax situation - like, do you have a business, do you require state tax filing, etc.?Good software product. I will buy it again next year for my 2024 tax prep.

I used to use tax software from another well-known company, but switched to H&R after tiring of their pushy marketing tactics and their ever-more bloated software. Have been very happy and never looked back since. H&R is simple, fast, and fair. It's a great value (even at full price) given how well-designed it is. They aren't pushy about upselling you stuff you don't need. It's easy to import tax documents from financial companies. The screens are easy to read and the process is very straightforward (or at least as much as it can be given how ridiculously convoluted our tax system is). Importing taxes from previous year always works great, and so does e-filing. Updates are timely and easy and assure you're working with the latest info. Best tax software out there.

I have used the H&R software multiple times in past years. When trying to file 2 returns for 2023, received errors indicating the system could not communicate with the servers. Tried several times without success and eventually got instructions message to mail the return to the IRS. I abandoned the HRB software I paid for and went with TAXFREEUSA. Entered a return, submitted, and was accepted by the IRS. Later received an email from TAXFREEUSA indicating the return was rejected and come to find out it was because another return had already been accepted for the SSN. This was very alarming as I knew, based on the message received from HRB, that the return had not gone through. After spending more time trying to resolve the issue, discovered I had received an email from HRB indicating the IRS had accepted my HRB return???!!! I was relieved to see this message but was not 100% confident it has been accepted as the HRB software did not show this status. Thought I would wait overnight to see if the HRB software status updated. It did not. Called HRB Customer Service and surprisingly got right through. The Customer Service Representative confirmed the IRS had accepted the return. Asked her why their software does not show that status and she said it was a software glitch. Thanks HRB! You just wasted my time and money! Now to find out how to stop getting the emails from FREETAXUSA saying my return was rejected! I will not use the H&R Block software ever again!

the program works well but the trap is the cost of transmitting your return, It seems that because I did not accept their fee to transmit they did not sent my return and worse yet I was not notified that they did not, I had to pay a late fee to the IRS because it was too late when i caught the issue and I was charged for filing late..NEVER AGAIN!! WATCH THE FINE PRINT!!!

Tried to use a free online tax software, it didn't work well and help was non existent. Bought this to use instead and it completely solved the problem. Easy to use. Easy to understand download instructions.
