Excellent Tom Petty Album
I like to buy both vinyl and CD formats and use streaming to search for albums of the past and present. If they are good and I like them I buy one or both. The Tom Petty CD arrived factory sealed in mint condition. Excellent purchase. I recommend this album. It's superb.

Tom Petty's finest?
Tom Petty has recorded some fantastic five star albums and his standard has been consistently high โ few dip below four stars. This is one of his best. Recorded in 1988-9 soon after the formation of the Traveling Wilburyโs, Jess Lynne produces the album (with Petty and Mike Campbell) and George Harrison and Roy Orbison (shortly before his death) each provide guitar and backing vocals on a track. Lynne shares songwriting with Petty on seven tracks, including the uptempo hit singles โFree fallinโโ, โI wonโt back downโ and โRunninโ down a dreamโ, the haunting ballad โA face in the crowdโ, the Wilburyish โYer so badโ and the Bo Diddley-influenced โA mind with a heart of its ownโ . Campbell co-wrote with Petty the Stones-influenced โLove is a long roadโ, there is a cover of The Byrdsโ โFeel a whole lot betterโ and the remaining three songs comprise two Petty rockers (โDepending on youโ and โThe apartment songโ) and a Petty ballad (โAlright for nowโ). The album is not over-produced by Lynne, except perhaps for the final track โโZombie Zooโ. On Full Moon Fever, Petty stands at the peak of his creative powers. This album contends with โDamn the Torpedoes (1979)โ, โInto the Great Wide Open (1991)โ and the 1976 debut 'Tom Petty and The Heartbreakersโ as Petty's finest.
