The film is directed, written and VFX by Takashi Yamazaki, who professes to be a Godzilla fan himself. Ryunosuke Kamiki plays the lead role. The heroine is played by Minami Hamabe. The film also features a cast of talented actors, including Hiroki Yamada, Takataka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki, all of whom are ready to take on Godzilla. The music is composed by Naoki Sato, who has composed music for many of Yamazaki's films, including "Always: Sunset on Third Street," "Destiny: The Kamakura Story," and "Archimedes' War. The overwhelmingly powerful visuals and music will send viewers into a whirlpool of excitement.

A beautiful record
The music for this film is so amazing I really need to see the film again right now and then again and again. For now I'm really enjoying this record. If you liked the film you will enjoy this 2 record set. Don't buy the colored Waxwork version get this one on glorious black vinyl. Cost more but its worth it.

GREAT music, disappointing vinyl UPDATE: REPLACEMENT DISC MUCH BETTER
This soundtrack made an already great movie even greater. It was atmospheric in all the right ways. In the sad parts, strings slowly faded into and out of the background playing chords that sounded sad and a bit dissonant. In the exciting parts, the soundtrack amped up the adrenaline. And we get to hear the original and much beloved Godzilla theme song from the 1954 film.If you want to hear a beautiful cross-section of this amazing soundtrack, fire up your favorite streaming service and play tracks 11, 12, and 13 (Pain, Resolution, Godzilla Suite II).I'm a vinyl collector and enthusiastic, and a huge Godzilla fan. As the credits rolled in the theater the first time I saw the film, the audience broke out into sustained applause, and my first thought was - I had to get the soundtrack, preferably on vinyl. (Actually, my first thought was where is the nearest IMAX theater, I had to see it again.)The initial pressing of the soundtrack was limited to 500 copies, and they sold out during November while the film was in theaters in Japan. By December when the film came to the U.S., copies of the LP were going on eBay for $150-300. I couldn't justify spending that much, so I bought the soundtrack on CD from a record store in Japan, had it shipped to the U.S.A month later, I'd seen the film 4 times, including Minus Color, and was thrilled to see that Rambling Records was planning another, much larger run. I placed a pre-order the day Amazon listed it, a few months ago.I was thrilled when my copy arrived a week or so ago.Until I played it.Ticks and pops throughout, and higher than average surface noise. A high noise floor on Side 3. I ran both discs through an ultrasonic record cleaning machine 3 times each. That helped, but it's still a noisier than average pressing with some tics & pops. And aside from pressing issues, the SQ is mediocre. I am thinking about returning it for a replacement, but I'm not optimistic that a replacement would sound better.I returned it to Amazon and bought another copy. The new copy is much better. It still has a few light pops, and the noise floor is a bit higher than most non-audiophile records I've purchased. But it sounds much improved. And, aside from any pressing issues, the SQ has a bit more life than the previous copy I got. I now enjoy it about as much as I enjoy the CD.Speaking of the CD. It also is not audiophile. But the SQ is very good, about as good as the LP (and I normally prefer the sound of a record over a CD). And of course the CD doesn't suffer from the noise floor, pops and ticks that many records have. The booklet that comes with the CD also has more photos than you get with the LP, though they're very small because the booklet is small. The CD also comes with an OBI strip printed in Japanese, which some collectors will find pretty cool. There's another version on vinyl coming very soon. Waxwork Records is coming out with a version on colored vinyl, also a gatefold but with different artwork and photos. It is much less expensive than this version. I preordered a copy a few months ago. After my copy arrives and I have a chance to compare it to this Rambling Records version on black vinyl, I will update this review with some comparison notes.* * *I don't normally buy multiple versions of the same recording. But to me, the CD, the Waxwork colored vinyl edition, and this Rambling Records black vinyl edition each offer something unique for the collector. If you are as fiscally irresponsible as me, er, I mean, if you love the film and the soundtrack as much as me and you can afford all three, get all three. If you can only afford one version and you enjoy collecting vinyl, I would say visit Waxworks' website and compare the photos and artwork on their version to the Rambling Records version here.If you're on a tight budget, the CD is very good and the selection of photos in the booklet plus the OBI make it collectible.

Instant Classic
Naoki Sato's music for Godzilla Minus One is perfectly suited to the film, and listening to it in this format, one realizes just how much feeling is conveyed by it.Music has always been an integral part of Godzilla cinema, beginning with the work of the great Akira Ifukube, whose themes reappear here with tremendous resonance. Sato's score enters this same arena with confidence, incorporating dissonant sounds to complement the cinematic action, without sacrificing melodic value. Expressing everything from immense power to great tenderness to heroic resolve, Naoki Sato's compositions for Godzilla Minus One have a vital quality, in keeping with the film's life-affirming story. If Godzilla ever reappears in this incarnation, I hope Sato's music will accompany his arrival.

Great Music
This is not your everyday type sound score. The music is much different. I like music that is original and different. It may not fit every ones style but if yo listen to it carefully it will grow on you.
