Excellent socks !
I love these socks.I don't have diabetes or swollen ankles, but so many socks have caused problems. Many are far too tight round the ankle and leave an indentation. (I showed this to my doctor and he showed me that he had the same problem with tight socks! :D ) I have also found that some socks irritate my ankles after several hours wear, even after multiple washes.I thought these "non-binding socks for diabetics" might be worth trying, so I bought a pack. I am very glad I did so. These socks are not at all tight and leave no marks. They are thin, not winter socks, but warmer than I expected. In very cold weather I can put on two pairs to make my feet cosy. They have not caused any irritation, even though I put them on straight from the pack without washing first.I will definitely order more.I thought hard about whether to give 4 or 5 stars. My only reason for giving 4 is that I really want to order a pack of 8 pairs in one colour, and they are only available in packs of assorted colours. However, eventually I decided that the socks (and the seller) deserved 5 stars.PS Buying a lot of socks in one colour eliminates the problem of finding the mate of a lone sock in the sock drawer.

Really comfy socks
I've been looking for loose fit socks in more inspiring colours for some time (most of them seem to be black, grey, blue or brown), so when I saw these I decided to chance it. I was very happy indeed. Yes, I did get a couple of the drabber colours but I also got some very jazzy ones in bright colours which will cooordinate with pretty much everything I wear. I ordered my normal size and they fit just right; loose and comfortable but not so slack they fall down. I will admit they do slide down when I'm wearing boots, but as we are moving out of boot season that's o problem. They are fine in trainers, slippers, and beach shoes. They are lightweight which should make them fine in summer, but I haven't had cold feet while wearing them in a recent cold snap. The finishing on the seams is good, no annoying dangly bits of thread, and the labels are attached with an easy to undo cotton, not those nasty bits of plastic which need scissors to get off and wind up all over the floor like tiny caltrops. I am very pleased with this purchase and if I find them doing boot socks I'll be first in the queue.

Comfy colourful socks
Softness and the stretch is good I have arthritis so do need comfort but these provide that The tops of one pair have slightly unraveled so I do worry about how they will fare when washed

Nice colours, comfy socks
OK, first of all, these socks are good value with eight pairs in the pack. They are soft and comfy and don't create dents in my dodgy vein-ridden legs. They also don't seem to give me that latex itch which others can do.It is early days, but they also seem to be washing well. I might order a second batch in a week or two as they seem so good, thinking it is good to buy them now I have found some that work for me.The flip side of the comfort is they are quite baggy all over, which is fine when you are sitting around or pottering about, but becomes a problem if out for a long walk wearing wellies. Remember how as a child you had socks that ran down your welly and bunched up on the foot or toes? As I say, this does not happen in normal use, and is a small price to pay for comfort and to relieve the problems that other socks can cause.Hope you find this helpful, they are highly recommended.

Great socks without elastic!
These are very comfortable socks, in pleasant colours, for those who have problems wearing elasticated socks. Whether it is a medical issue, or simply for comfort (as in my case), these socks do a great job. It is true that they won't stay up quite as well as socks that have elastic digging into your ankles, but that is more than off-set by the comfort and wearability that they offer. They are true to size and lightweight, yet still offer added warmth. I really don't like wearing socks due to the way conventional elasticated socks dig in; these socks have made a huge difference and they offer an effective, pain and discomfort free alternative to elastic.

More comfortable but...
I've had these socks two weeks and I've received two requests for reviews.Let me share my situation and experience.I have chronic kidney disease and take two different medications that seem to cause edema which along with the hot weather, cause me to retain a lot of water in my legs. This gets uncomfortable when wearing ordinary socks from M&S, especially as some seem that have stronger elastic than others.I finally decided to buy these. They were delivered quickly. The socks look ok although they do feel quite thin. When we put them on, in the morning wheny legs are "normal" after lying down, they go on very easily. The lack of tight grip is obvious from the start and I did wonder if they would stay up.They did and by the evening and "maximum water", they still felt comfortable. When I pulled them down to inspect my ankles, there wasn't the compressed waist created by the elastic of ordinary socks. When I walked around without socks, there were occasions when they did get pulled off. This is acceptable to me because I don't see how you can have grip to keep them on but no grip to be comfortable although I see some reviewers complain. The other complaints I've seen relate to how well they wash and age. The instructions say wash at 40 C but don't tumble dry.Since they've been washed, I haven't worn them again yet. This is because the weather has cooled down enough for me not to need special socks so much. I've held off because of concerns about their durability. This is why I've only given a 3 star review at the moment. I can't confirm that they wash and wear well or they don't.I am pleased I've tried them because they are much more comfortable and I'll be disappointed if they only last a few wears.

Soft, stretchy, non-binding
These are thin, lightweight socks, appropriate for summer. The top edge fits my thick ankles, without putting any pressure on my ankles. The socks do not slide down my legs into my shoes, maybe because my ankles are thick. The fabric is soft, breathable, stretchy cotton. Be aware that there is a seam at the toes, which some diabetics, with peripheral neuropathy, may not like.
