This Stuff works BUT sometimes you got to be Patient !!
I had large nests of Carpenter Ants in front and rear of home, inside exterior walls. They were constantly entering my home. I bought this kit with Maxforce bait and Advance Granules in May of 2017 !! Put both near areas of ant activity !! Most of summer I was still seeing Ants at least six to eight a day at various times. I was very disappointed because there were so many good reviews. I was going to call a Exterminator this Spring 2018. That is NOT necessary because during hibernation they chowed down on this stuff and I have not found ANY Carpenter Ants in or around my home this summer at all and it is July so I do believe they are gone !!! These two items together DO work at getting rid of Carpenter Ant Nests !!!!!

Time has told
Update 4/6/2017I put the pair of ant control products out through out the course of time since purchasing. I refreshed the granules and the gel about every 2 months or so. While I can't say that I ever saw any special activity around the baits, a spring season has passed and the pile of frass went from about 1.5" high in the corner of the window sill last spring to just a trace this year. The battle may not be won yet, but for 10 minutes of effort every couple of months I'm calling this a victory. At the current rate of use the baits should last many years.Bought from "Buy Our Stuff Cheap" on Amazon. Arrived on time and in great condition. Vendor followed up after shipment to make sure I was happy.I am happy with the seller and the product, but it takes a while before you can verify that it has done its job. In my case I've been using the product about 4 weeks now. I see less carpenter ant activity, but I won't know if its really resolved the issue until next spring (6 months from now). Spring is when the colony will start aggressively trying to expand and their activity is obvious.I've got what must be a small colony of carpenter ants in a window frame. There were piles of the tell tale frass on the sill inside the window, but apart from the week or so in spring when they spew winged giants in search of new territory to conquer, there has been relativity little activity, even before I started treating. I put out both the granular protein bait as well as squirts of the gel sweet bail both inside and outside of the window. I've never seen the swarm of ants surrounding the bait some reviews speak of, but the number of dead and dying ants in the window sill was steady the first couple of weeks and less after that. While I'm hopeful this means that the colony is slowly poisoning itself, the fact that the number of dead ants in the area far outnumber the live ones makes me think the claim of it taking several days for the ants to die after eating the bait has me wondering. That said I've not seen new frass, and as I said the number of carpenter ants is significantly lower than a month ago so I'm taking this optimistically to be a good precursor for next spring.

I can't recommend this product enough
This works really, really well. We've had an issue with carpenter ants every summer since we moved into this house, and nothing I've tried before has worked. After a little research I decided to give this kit a try. I was hesitant to spend so much, but I figured it be worth it if it worked, and it would be cheaper than an exterminator. We sprinkled the powder all around the outside of our house, and put gel bait in several disposable cups which I placed around the outside of the house, and one inside where we saw ants most frequently. Within a few days they were GONE! I haven't seen a single ant inside my house in over a month. There's still enough left to do another treatment if they come back next year. I can't recommend this product enough. I've already suggested it to a couple friends who mentioned having an issue and were thinking about calling in an exterminator. They had great success as well. Highly recommend.

50% of the product worked for me, luckily I only needed that much
I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the liquid bait applicator in my case, or I just did something wrong, but when I tried to operate the plunger the liquid just exploded out the back. At that point, I felt like it was hazardous to try to get anything further out of it, so I tossed it and spent the next half hour or so frantically trying to scrub liquid poison off of the work table on my porch in a safe manner.Luckily, it turned out that the ants were in the mood for the granular bait, and it seemed to have killed them all off within a couple of days - this was around a year ago and I still have never seen them come back.If it weren't for the issue with the liquid bait applicator, it would have been 5 stars because the poison clearly works. As I said, I still don't really know whether I did something wrong or whether it was just broken. It seemed like a pretty straightforward device, but there weren't any assembly/usage instructions so I couldn't really check whether I'd done everything correctly.I still have a good amount of the granular bait and just used it to get rid of some Oderous House Ants (that's their real name), so it apparently works for them too, if anyone's interested. :)

Thank god!
After trying some other brands I am happy I came across this stuff. The gel is what really did it for my carpenter ant problem. I put some in a beer cap and they were swarming. Initially I thought I had every carpenter ant in the city coming for the gel. I wanted to kill each one but for this stuff to work they have to take it to their nest. Three days later and no ants in sight. The granular bait didn't work so well but it all depends what they are feeding on. I found two dead queens but never the nest.

DID NOT WORK FOR ME
I put both gel and granular products in my cottage wall infested with carpenter ants two weeks ago. Products were advertised to kill all the ants in 4 to 6 days. Neither product appears to be killing the ants. Four days ago I put upside down duct tape on my floor near my infested wall. When I returned to check the tape yesterday, I must have had 500 ants sticking to my tape, many of them obviously still alive. The only thing these products did was drive many of the ants out of their nest onto my floor. Apparently there are also many more in the wall, as they keep coming out. I am going to hire a professional to deal with my problem.
