It is fast 8 gb ram makes he difference along with 250ssd, win 10pro. Perfect setup and affordable.
Best £290 I have spent on laptop, does all the things I need. Quality is there along with speed of i5, along with 250ssd and internal graphics. Which I don't need but handy for presentations. Easy to connect to larger monitor via display port. Ample USB slots, docking port, vga, sd card slot excellent layout with keyboard. No marks or obvious signs of being refurbished. Would highly recommend, save hundreds of pounds on new when a processor that's just a couple of years old will do all the this you need, at a fraction of the cost. Comes with one year warranty and opportunity to extend it. What more can you ask for at this price and quality?

Happy
This is my first time purchase of refurbished laptop. It was delivered quickly. Come in with new keyboard and power cord both are of good biid. General condition of the laptop is good. No scratch or damage except a cracked rubber dumper. It comes in with a year guarantee.Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Happy with the purchase
Bought a different renewed laptop and had a bad experience and I'm glad I went with this as a second optionHappy with it so far (just 2 weeks so time will tell). SSD obviously makes all the day to day tasks very quick, and it's worth paying a bit more for a device that has this.No scuffs, marks, etc. on it looks and feels brand newRan benchmarking software on it and all components are working as expected or better. So overall very happy but I suppose it's a lotto with these things.

Typical PC - A piece of junk
I am retired, but still do a lot of spreadsheet work, and organize personal items using word, excel, ppt etc.I bought this recon laptop based on a friends recommendation. After being a DELL user (company issued - never ending problems also) I moved to Mac when I retired end 2014, but altho I have NEVER had a single issue with my Mac in 5 years, it seemed too black boxy and a bit like a glorified handphone or tablet. So I bought this recon HP about 1 year ago when the Mac was still working fine, but getting a bit long in the tooth.I live abroad and delivered this HP it to my daughter in the UK and I collected it 6 months after delivery. She had fired it up so I knew it "worked". Within 1 week of getting it home, it wouldnt charge. I took it down the local PC shop and bought a new original charger (I had checked the cables, they were fine.) I was also having constant issues with blue screen crashes - I looked at it, I had my IT friends look at it, for some reason Chrome was using up >90% of the CPU everytime I browsed. I eventually discovered from a software cum HP expert, that for some reason the machine had come with a Chrome browser installed - but it wasnt GOOGLE Chrome, it was something else, and it sucked up over 90% of the CPU useage. I uninstalled it and then installed the real Chrome. It has constant messages and pop-ups appearing all the time - to the point of being annoying - and I dont mean browser pop-ups which I have curtailed with software. I mean notifications: "this is wrong"; "that is wrong;" "installing this"; "updating that;", "do not shut down while this happening;" etc etc. - I know this is standard PC stuff, but what a pain in the @@@, my Mac was never like this. Yes, once a month there would be an update happening that I scheduled it to do while I was in bed. But not this constant annoying rubbish.Next thing. Although I have checked the settings 100 times, the touch pad commands dont work - zoom, two finger scroll etc. The only things that work are the one finger mouse movement (sometimes - this also has common lapses) and the click buttons closest to the keyboard. The click buttons closer to the front edge of the laptop do not work, and never have worked. The rubber button which I often use when the touch pad is not working at all, constantly falls off. I superglued it.For the keyboard, the letters are all correct, but a number of the key symbols are mis-lablelled - particularly the hashtag is not a hashtag, and I have not yet managed to find the little tilde (wavy) hyphen symbol. I dont think it exists. Plus, its a bit weirdly set up. Some things are not where I would expect them to be.Add to that the fact that some of the more commonly used keys - the shift and the space bar keys - are repainted, and the paint is wearing off and, for the left shift key, there is another confusing symbol starting to show through, then I suppose you get what you pay for. A piece of half heartedly reconditioned junk with a poor quality respray.Anyway, I just dusted off my 6 year old MacAir and fired it up first touch after 1 year sitting on my desk. Not an issue, working fine straight away and I am typing this on the Mac because the charger is busted - AGAIN - on the HP, so it is out of batt and time to go down the local PC shop - ONCE AGAIN. I checked the cables, they are fine, so it is the actual HP piece of junk charger again.I will probably bite the bullet and buy a new Mac, and ceremoniously bin this piece of junk HP PC as soon as I take a delivery of the Mac. A further comment - getting back onto the Mac - it just feels so well made. The machine is nice and solid. I have dropped it a few times in its life, and it has never had an issue, there are no rattles, zero pixels gone on the screen, and the keys when I type are padded and solid. In contrast, the PC rattles, the battery cover on the back keeps on falling off and is loose, and when typing it feels as and sound like a rattly machine gun because the keys are loose, are not flush, and are not cushioned. You pay more for a Mac, but hey, I understand why. Macs are pure, solid, reliable hands off quality compared to the PC. I am not advertising the Mac here, I am just trying to provide a reference for comparison with this HP PC piece of junk that was delivered. And before I bought this PC I read loads of reviews - this is supposedly one of the BEST ! I must say, I would blame half the rubbishness on the original HP build, and half on the useless refurbishment.

Excellent Value
After having problems with another online refurbished laptop seller, I was wary. However, my misgivings were unfounded. This item arrived in excellent condition with straightforward instructions. So far so good. The sound quality is not as good a my previous laptop, however, I don't use it for gaming so not a problem. It's lightweight yet packs a punch. Very fast. I use it for work and usually have 2 to 3 spreadsheets plus 4 to 5 cloud based applications that I'm working on. In addition, I usually have an on demand TV programme running aswell! Would highly recommend this company.

Decent kit, poor Amazon service on return of a defective unit.
Good kit, reasonable price. However scratches blemishes on the case. One battery failed out of 3, which happens. However to return and spend 1hr passed around Amazon support. Bad telephone lines to offshore call centres only to be told we can return and refund rather than return and ship a replacement was poor service. Price has gone up since. purchase. So wait a week for refund return the kit the n purchase again for more money!

SSD is cheap and failed quickly.
Laptop works fine but the renewed one has a cheap SSD installed, which quickly failed. Seems like a lot of buyers have the same problem with this renewed product. New SSD and fresh windows install and it works OK but the renew company really does need to use better quality components.
