OXO Good Grips Egg Slicer

Brilliant egg slicer. Great quality. Can also chop if you slice then rotate and slice again.

Whenever possible I buy OXO kitchen products as they are well made, non slip and good value for money - this egg slicer is no exception. It’s larger than my old slicer so enables the eggs to be sliced vertically and horizontally. Excellent idea, as I used to get c10 round egg slices of which c4 slices were all egg white, but with this OXO slicer if you slice from top to bottom all of the oval slices have some yolk in them (see photo). I have been experimenting slicing other foods, it’s great for mushrooms, tomatoes, strawberries and even sausage but not so good for kiwis or cucumber - my Mandoline slicer is best for these larger items (OXO Mandoline of course).

Since moving to the UK 3 years ago, I had 2 different egg slicers which broke quickly. I didn’t want to spend £10 on a good quality tool so I wasted money on those cheap brands. This OXO egg slicer is worth the £10 I paid for it. It is well made, non slip, simple to clean. Don’t but a cheap egg slicer—— but this OXO. You won’t be sorry

Very useful, does the job nicely

Excellent quality, cleanly sliced eggs every time. Much more sturdy than the very cheap ones that I've used in the past. Very easy to both use and clean.

I bought the egg slicer ages ago but only started to use it recently and the strings broke after only 3 uses.

This egg slicer doesn’t slip on the counter top, allows you to cut the egg in two directions and is the best one to buy in my opinion. Easy to clean, too.

(as several reviews have already mentioned) As usual, OXO product is awesome. It worked so well on eggs I thought to slice a mushroom with it. FAIL. Wires went 'twang' and the slicer was done. NOT the fault of OXO, nope... all on me. So, enjoy your sliced eggs and leave the mushrooms to a good knife.

Me encantan los productos OXO. En general, están bien hechos, son resistentes y cumplen su función. Tengo otra cortadora de huevos de la línea Martha Stewart y los alambres se están deshaciendo y no es tan robusta como la mía OXO. Uso esta cortadora cada vez que como huevos cocidos.

Hatte bisher einen Eierschneider, der u.a. bei Amazon und in diversen Supermärkten in der "8€" Klasse angeboten wird. Dessen Hauptmerkmale - Vollplastik, labberig, keine Spannung und das Scharnier ist so lausig gefertigt, dass man beim Schneiden eines einfachen Eis so verkanten kann, dass der Schneidedraht unten auf den Plastikführungen aufsetzt. Was wieder nicht gut für die Spannung der Drähte ist. Ergebnis ist, dass Eier mehr zerdrückt als sauber geschnitten werden. Dieser ist genau das Gegenteil - straff ohne Ende, nette Kombination aus Metall und Kunststoff. Die Schneidedrähte sind in einem Metallring eingespannt, der in Kunststoff eingefasst ist. Das Scharnier ist stabil und hat ausreichende Führung - zuklappen, gut ist. Egal ob Ei oder Mozarella, das taugt einfach. Der hier ist wenige Euro teurer als die Billigteile, nur funktioniert dieser tatsächlich.
