Eleven-year old computer whiz-kid Preston Waters is handed a blank cheque by a gang of criminals, which he promptly cashes for a million dollars. Preston then takes off on a shopping spree, buying every computer and video game under the US sun, unaware that his unwilling benefactors are in hot pursuit, closely followed by the FBI.

Finally got the chance to see it after all those years! Would recommend streaming it if possible.
I found out about this film (or Blank Cheque as it was known in the UK back then) after seeing the trailer for it on the original VHS release of the Nightmare Before Christmas in the late 90s. I finally got the chance to see Blank Check after I rented it on DVD from Lovefilm in 2010 (by then the original American title of the film was also used on the latest DVD release throughout the English-Speaking-World given that it is an American film). By then the film also had a nostalgic feel to it especially the music and the technology. I like the similarities with Home Alone as well as giving out an important message about money and blank cheques. I would recommend streaming this on Amazon Video if your broadband is fast enough given that the online version is also available in HD and the DVD does not have any special features.

Fun kids comedy
A young boy get hit by a car when he's riding his bike and the mobster driver gives him a blank signed cheque to apologize, the kid then goes home and prints it for 1 million dollars, what kid hasn't imagined what that would be like. There's lots of fun as the young boy spends his fortune, buying everything a young boy would want, including a castle, but then the man who has paid for it all is not happy and he and his fellow mobsters set out to get him. Blank Cheque is a fun film for kids over 5 or 6, my boys have loved this film for years now, it's one of their favourites.

good
Good film just proves that too much money can't make you happy infact very lonely going by this film, this kid ends up with a blank cheque so gets it made out for a ridiculously large sum of money ends up getting every thing he wants except he learns a valuable lesson who your true friends are who wants you just for your money and who is genuine, bit of action involved funny at times good all round family film
