The Little Bear Movie
S**S
My son loves it... I could do without.
***MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***First, the movie is charming, because it answers my question... Are there feral bears in Little Bear's world? As a matter of fact, there are. Little Bear meets another little bear when he is on a trip with Father Bear. The new little bear is named "Cub". Uninspired, but hey, I've watched Franklin and everyone is named after what they are in that one. Moving on... Cub is wild. Little Bear tells him so a few times and Cub hates it. Little Bear invites Cub to come to his house. And that's when we realize Cub is either lost or on his own. Father Bear says he'll have to ask his parents and Cub runs about 20 feet behind a bush and then comes out and says they said it was okay.As a parent, I would be suspicious if a child said their parents said okay that quickly, and I didn't get to meet or see their parents. But this is Father Bear and he doesn't really care. (Mother Bear seems to be the one with the sense and Father Bear is home so infrequently I thought for a long time she was a single mother... Although, real bears don't stay with their mates after... ... MOVING ON AGAIN...Little Bear gets home with Cub and introduces him to pancakes. Which they show him how to make but then when flipping the cakes Cub flips too hard and it sticks to the ceiling. Which isn't so bad, but it's just another instance of how Cub isn't house trained. The movie goes the way all movies go with the family realizing this kid is lost and then bringing him home to his parents. As kids movies go... This is okay. There's a cougar (mountain lion) in it that might be a little scary for some kids, but other than some roughhousing there's nothing in the movie that would make me say it's bad. It's tolerable to adults, and if your kids like Little Bear they will like this one as well. (It's just more like a really long episode.)At least it's not like some of the Franklin movies... >.< Turtle Lake... DO NOT let little kids watch that one... There are a lot of scary parts (for small children) and a lot of talk about death.

A really good movie for little ones
here is one movie that is not going to frighten your little ones. it's sweet and wholesome, but has some romp and adventure. beautiful example of different types of families living differently but coexisting peacefully. demonstrates how we can help each other. I'm so grateful to my 4 year old's teacher for telling me about this. we have no tv, and I try to keep it that way, but (especially on an airplane) this is a movie that will captivate your child and not disturb them with scary soundtracks and creepy characters. this film is as lovable as one would expect a "little bear movie" to be :) Even after watching some of the horrible so-called "children's" movies, this is a movie that gives (both of us) comfort and joyful distraction when someone is sick or can't play outside for whatever reason. This is real old-style animation, so your child is actually watching art, not slick modern gimmicks. We love this movie.

Not as good as the TV show
We were excited to have Little Bear to show our sons that is longer than 24 minutes. This lived up to those expectations. It is a bit less well polished than the TV show is, and the music is pretty bad. It doesn't have the same immersive feel as the TV show does and it is scary for younger children at times. Overall it is pretty good and is probably worth the money. It is cute and tolerable as an adult.I think some of the voice actors are different, and it led our son to be confused about a character or two. He otherwise enjoys it, but far less than the original TV show.

Ideal for 3-4 year olds
Great movie for 3-4 year olds. No violence. It underscores that people are different and friends help each other. Great message.

It's cute
I loved it. I gave it 4 starts because it was really long. I expected it to be a little shorter because it's geared towards younger children but it was too long for the 2 year old age list interest after 40 mins and the 5 year old lost interest after an hour.

movie
Had to give it away as it was the wrong region plus it would have cost me more to send back.
