This book has all the features you want to hold your interest. It is well written lot of underwater problems to solve

It's interesting how construction is done on piers. Not enough treasure hunting though. Will definitely read the next books by the author.

Wood’s Reward by Steven Becker is a look back at the early days of the Mac Travis series. This book assists in understanding Mac’s history with Wood prior to the start of the Mac Travis series. This book resolves around a bridge reconstruction project when Mac was an employee of Wood’s construction company. Most of the story revolves around the finding of a treasure while working on the bridge. The treasure is related to a dispute between two salvage operators during the Civil War. The story gets into the difference between salvage operators and treasure hunters in present day. There is a conflict between Mac and Wood with a treasure hunter who is trying to steal the treasure from them.This is a good story that will help you understand Mac’s character and back story for the Mac Travis series. A good read for anyone who has started the Mac Travis series to get an introduction to some of the characters and locations that show up in the series.

Wood is an old coot but a very savvy, smart old coot. Mac is the vey quiet voice of reason and a willing partner to Wood. Ned is the historical genius that makes the find worthwhile. Read this, it's good.

As an author myself, I really appreciate the story line and the characters. It is easy to close your eyes and think you are right there in the Keys!

Keeps you guessing through out the book! Of course, every one loves a treasure! Great writing ! Keys sound beautiful!

Never read this one before;good story line and good way to start the series. Recommend; worth your time and money.

I have been following the adventures of Mac Travis for sometime. It’s very interesting to go back to his time with Woodson. It helps to flush out the backstory and that’s appreciated. The one thing I thoroughly enjoyed was, I found it unnecessary to deal with that stupid Cajun screwing up everything.
