Serrated side super sharp
This is a great yard and garden tool to have. It’s thicker than a knife but similar to a knife. Perfect for trimming those little growth sprouts around trees and if gardening and transplanting to cut through those bigger roots

Love this knife!
Sturdy and sharp! I can't wait to really get some work done come this spring, but the bit of work I've done so far has been enjoyable. This will easily become my favorite tool.

Sturdy, Sharp Garden Knife
The Gartol garden knife was ordered for use in our garden and property. When 1st received, the knife was immediately tested in the cleanup of our garden after the cooler autumn weather had started. First, I was surprised at how sharp both edges were. The serated blade is sharp, not smooth edge sharp, but certainly enough that it was easy to saw through some smaller plants and small tree limbs. The smooth edge was also sharp enough that it was good good at whittling down some small wood limbs into points. The product description indicates that the smooth edge "boasts a razor-sharp angled edge for slicing". The knife is sharp, but I would not say it is razor sharp. The knife can be utilized for other other uses including digging in the ground. However, care would need to be taken so that the smooth edge is not dinged.I liked the fact that the knife had some depth measurements since we do plant bulbs that need to be set at a specific depths. The knife has a full metal guard that separates the blade and handle. This guard gave the knife a very sturdy feel, and certainly gives the hand a protected surface. The handle appears to be made in a sturdy manner, and also feels balanced. I liked the sheath in which the knife is held.BOTTOM LINE: I definitely liked this addition to my tools for use on our property. It is sturdy, sharp, and well made. The price is more than competitive with other knives of similar quality. I would order this knife again.

Solid, full tang, well made.
This isn't my first hori hori, but so far it's my nicest one. Some dimensions; total length in sheath is 13.5". Out of the sheath total length is 12.25". The blade, up to the handle and at the full width is 7 and 1/8 and width is 1.75". This is the heaviest hori hori I have. I am a fairly active and healthy woman in her 60s and at first the heavier weight put me off, but this weight only makes the gardening jobs easier since I use less pressure to get the tool to do it's job. It's own weight does most of the work. The included sharpening stone is a nice bonus. My experience with all hori hori is that if they have a coating on the blade like this one, it wears off quickly. Obviously that has no effect on how well it works. The hori hori has replaced other garden tools for when I have just a few chores or smaller garden projects. I find that I never use trowels anymore, or have to use shovels to dig out plants to transplant (unless they are shrubs of course). The blade is thick, strong, solidly made and slightly convex. The shape allows it to substitute for a trowel. The serrations cut well. This is so handy to have when camping as well. I'm very happy with the quality of this hori hori and highly recommend trying one if you haven't yet.

Gardening Misericorde
Seems like a rather large K-Bar repurposed as a gardening tool. I get that it says "Garden Knife" and all but i still don't get why its double edged or why it has a razor sharp dagger tip. This tool will definitely get the job done if you need some sort of edging or cutting or...stabbing done in your yard. I guess i could see cutting something like shingles if you don't mind lugging this massive combat knife, i mean gardening tool around. It really is quite sharp. In fact, it's so sharp that it would have no problem cutting right through electrical or phone wires. I am fairly certain that this is the very worst gift you could give an elderly gardener (or anyone with unsteady hands), especially when it looks so much like a trowel in the photos. I can only hope this doesn't signal an impending war between gardeners and linoleum cutters. I think i was expecting more of a gardening trowel.

Awesome Hori Hori knife
This is the ideal tool for planting and weeding. It is comfortable to hold, and goes into even heavily compacted soil very easily.I planted 100 crocus bulbs in our front garden with this tool, and everything went as smoothly as could be hoped.

Digger or bulldozer ?
The question in my title is justified by the size and the mass of this tool: long, heavy metal very nice wooden handle. And: stainless steel, and with a measuring scale printed on one side. And: wide, and slightly V-shaped, like a small spade. And : sharp, with a sharp point, and serrated on the other side of the blade. The list gives you an idea of the reasons for the question in the title of my review. Massive, well built and with a lot of special features. In the garden work, you need exactly this kind of flexibility and strength, you need a tool that can let you do a lot of different things, and this tool fits the bill.

nice
This is a nice garden tool. It is well designed with a heavy duty, sturdy blade which is quite sharp and digs a narrow hole nicely. Handle is rosewood and attractive and fits securely in hand. Comes in a nice carrying case. Probably can also be used for self defense in a pinch. Overall a good product.Addendum: 2 weeks later was shoveling a small hole in the yard and sod was quite firm but as I was levering the blade it snapped at its base. So the metal is not the strongest and would recommend its use only for lighter jobs. Subtract 1 star.
