Professional quality arborist saw
Update (12/28/23): Have been using this as my primary hand saw for the past 2-1/2 years. Needless to say, it needed to be sharpened. One important point to note, some of the Silky saws have impulse hardened teeth, which this saw does, and you cannot use a regular file on it (just dulls the file). The right tool for the job is a diamond file. Just about any fine (300-400 grit) should work. I used a Japanese diamond file I bought a while ago, and it worked great. The file does need to be smaller like a needle file, or better yet a "rhombic", which is a specific file profile which is very thin, kind of like a dual knife edge file. After sharpening, the file cut the difference was night and day! I realize I waited too long, and will be inspecting my saw teeth every six months, or sooner if I suspect damage, e.g. hit metal while working.Summary: I have been clearing trees for the past several years, on both my property, but also as a community service (church and home owners association). A small, sharp handsaw, is an absolute necessity when clearing; for both small tasks (for which a chainsaw is too big), as well as to assist with clearing a stuck saw. I have listed the last 3-4 saws that I have used before the SILKY.Observations: Silky saws are made in Japan, which is known for very high quality. This model features the "XL" teeth, which is a larger tooth model, which I chose based on the primary task of tree clearing (rather than a finer/smaller tooth, more adepth at fine cutting). Lower cost saws will have non-hardenedRecommendations: 1) Clean your saw after EVERY use, remove the sap and wood chips from the teeth, and apply a light oil to prevent surface rust; 2) Lower cost saws will have NON-impulse hardened teeth, which is both good and bad; good in that you can use a file to sharpen them, and bad in that you will need to sharpen them; 3) For impulse hardened, take care that you do not hit hard things, like rocks or nails, because you'll either dull and possibly break a tooth. 4) For thinner saws, if you are trying to cut really quickly, you can accidentally bend the blade (and maybe even break the blade), so take your time to learn a proper sawing technique.Pros: Great fit & finish; super sharp; impulse hardened teeth; highly functional sheath.Cons: Cost (but well worth it). Conclusion: At $68, rating this 5-stars.Related Products:TABOR TOOLS Pruning Saw with Sheath, 10 Inch Hand Saw ~ $17, 05/2020https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G9DH47G/Komelon Speed Cut Pro Straight Pruning Saw, 11-4/5-Inch ~ $18, 11/2018https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G4W0AIA/TABOR TOOLS Pruning Saw ~ $12, 06/2017https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C70V7CK/

The best saw out there, for any arborists or pro gardeners this is a must have.
Cuts through anything like butter. Extremely easy to use, makes simple work of tree trimming and shrub pruning. Went through 5" limbs like it was nothing. Caution, it is incredibly sharp so use gloves when working with this. Even touching the blade slightly with bare hands will break the skin. I would absolutely recommend this to any plant professional or experienced home gardener. I'd be more hesitant to recommend it to the unskilled/newbie home gardener unless they had really good tool safety etiquette.

Great hand saw
This saw is very sharp and cuts quickly. Both in the tree or on the ground I can depend on this lil saw to cut efficiently. Fits well strapped to my calf and the scabbard is secure and locks saw in snugly. Care should be taken when near any ropes, lines or gear you don't want damaged or sliced. I know its a bit more costly than some others but it does cut better than most.

Get the insurance, but great saw overall
I liked this saw for a while-- it did seem to cut through branches easier than the Corona hand saw that I had before.Unfortunately, it broke while I was sawing through a fairly small oak limb, and I had owned it for less than a year. While I expected it to last longer than that, I had used it pretty heavily. It was an absolute beast in my war against invasive honeysuckle, privet, tree of heaven, and rosa multiflora.I will probably attempt to get compensation of some sort from the "limited lifetime warranty", but I'm not expecting much.Still, not a bad value considering how much I used it.I did buy a Silky Bigboy 360mm to replace it (has a slightly heavier/thicker blade but the teeth are not as "aggressive"), and I got the 4-year insurance this time.

Fantastic. Get Silky. Avoid knock-offs
Full tang. Great sheath. Blade quality and sharpness is perfect. Exceptional quality. Salute the design, manufacturing, attention to detail and pride in their work!My only request is that they would make a small (200mm blade) version out of 440C stainless or similar, to and all stainless hardware to minimize maintenance. This would be a backpackers / survivalists dream saw. I know this could pose challenges metallurgically, but maybe induction hardening the teeth is the solution. Flexible body, hard - edge retaining teeth. My other suggestion would be to Nickle Boron (electro less) coat the blade but mask the teeth and use stainless hardware. Salt water would still be a threat but would only have to clean and oil the teeth.

Best cutting handsaw I’ve ever used.
As an arborist, I’ve used a lot of different pruning saws. This thing here is by far the best I’ve ever used. Cuts like butter and hasn’t dulled out yet after a ton of use. My chainsaw broke during a removal of a 50’ spruce and I literally took the entire tree down with this saw to keep on schedule.

Works wonderfully, easy to carry.
Use it to cut up all the old timber from a rotten deck I pulled out of my yard. Gets through a 2x4 in seconds. The sheath means you never need to set down the saw. Fully recommend.
