Update on this review. I downgraded to 1 star and would rate it zero stars if I could. Told specifically would work in Greece and Greek Isles. Nope not at all. Waste of time and money.-------------Fortunately, I brought this well in advance of trip . The directions were not so clear, or really nonexistant. You need to insert the sim card, get authoriation code, enable data and then enable data roaming for this trip (located in settings , perhaps under cellular network settings) and change your preferred network type to global , to to the access Point Names (APN code) and input Msg (which is in the settings too). They don't tell you that. Customer service tries to be helpful but I had to contact them 3x before I got the above info. You can chat with them by googling them and going to their website.

It's ok. Wasn't great whenever you make a call, it hangs up, then calls you back to connect you to the number you just dialed. I mostly used it for data, but you have to set the correct access point name or your data will not work. Just google how to change the Apn name, instructions were pretty easy to find .

I purchased this travelchat sim because I am going on a transatlantic cruise and want to be able to communicate back home cheaply from international cruise ports. It cannot be used at sea. I do not have an international phone plan. I do not want to have to search for free wifi in ports. I found the travelchat sim on Amazon for $25 and discovered it allowed the use of 5 different messaging apps internationally for free for a whole year. I will be using Facebook messenger mainly to communicate. In addition it allows free incoming calls and includes $10 to use toward sms or outgoing calls at around $ .25 per text or minute.I activated the sim on the travelchat website using my computer and inserted the sim in an old unlocked MetroPCS LG K7. I needed help.I chatted with travelchat support and they were exceptional in helping me (a senior) get it set up. I could not ask for a better - more patient tech support team. What I had to do was manually select a network and set up a new apn. I also had to have data roaming on but the messenger app does not use data and is free.When I tested the messenger chat feature it worked perfectly. However, I made the mistake of testing incoming and outgoing phone calls using phones with prepaid MVNO plans. To test your phone make sure you are calling from/to a phone that allows international calls. Also I learned to dial 001 first to a USA phone number from the travelchat phone. I was provided with an Estonia phone number and learned one should dial 011 and then the phone number I was provided to call me on the travelchat phone.Bottom line - I still have to check it out in cruise ports in Spain, Portegal and Gilbralter etc. but if you want to chat for a year and get free incoming calls in the USA and overseas in the countries listed on their website for $25 then I would highly recommend trying out the travechat sim!BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE/TECH SUPPORT EVER! so it is just for chatting. only for that, all south america trip it worked good, a little bit slow but work, so whatsapp, fb msg, viber, etc work good but to send pics, audio, or to see status not good, but for texting is good.

I've got it, inserted it and it did not work. Even though I checked the area of the world I needed it for nothing happened. Waste of money. Keep looking.

I bought this mainly to use it in India. But it failed and it didn't help my son to contact me. disappointed!! No help also.

This Travel Card is perfect! It only had 3 reviews by the time I bought it, but all 3 reviews were 5 stars. I was scared at first because my trip was in two days and didn’t know if it actually worked. I travelled to England and Scotland from the US and it worked perfectly in all places. I changed the SIM card when I was getting on the plane. As soon as a arrived in England, I received a message welcoming me to the UK and the rates of calls and texts. I used whats app and facebook messenger throughout my entire trip and never had to complain. The messages sent fast too. It also comes with a $10 credit.

Didn't work at all in Europe. It wouldn't even install.
