I love these pencils. A beautiful set to create amazing range within drawings. Have gifted a set to my BIL who loves them too and has created outstanding artwork with them.

Fantastic quality pencils. So easy to use, and I get such wonderfully dark tones with them. Sharpening them is also a treat, as the lead doesn’t break off every 5 seconds.

I only read one review with some negative experience. They lose some of the layers in dust form. Well I have found my old water soluble graphite and instead of paper blender. Technalo 779 is perfect to keep the markings on the paper and it is very good at reducing graphite shine too. Basicly I am doing burnishing with water color graphite and it has two benefits. I hope it helps others.

Love the pencils but this set is expensive for what it is. As others have said there are only 8 pencils so unless you want the 12B and 14B buy the set of 6. You can get cheaper and better erasers and sharpeners. Certainly cheaper smudging stumps.Having said that they sharpen beautifully to a long sharp point as in the photograph which is a 10Bthey layer and blend well and on frisk bristol board there is a slight sheen in the darkest areasDissappointed in the contents but not with the pencils.

These pencils are in fact sheen free.However I feel they are a bit harder than standard graphite pencils.No breakage at all and great quality. Will be re- purchasing

These are a trusted artists brand for good reason. In Functionality, the difference between FC and cheaper brands is light years apart in regard to quality, ease of use and maintaining sharpness. If you are serious about producing archival work, these truly are value for money.

I prefer these to my other pencils, darker. Easier to shade with.Nice.
