Aphex Twin - nuff said really.
This is as good as it gets to be honest. Lovely electronic bubblebath music from they guy who coined the phrase ( sort of. ) Unexpectedly gentle and rich sounding, for the most part, this feels like a complete piece of work - no filler, no waste, all Aphex. An album. For some reason almost EVERY review I've read of this has taken points off for the fact that this album lacks the forward thinking innovation one expects from the Twin. I don't know - that seems pointlessly narrow minded to me. Either the music is good or it ain't. I'm not looking for innovation or the "new sound" with everything I listen to. I'm looking for good music. And that's what this is. If it lacks the power of discovery Mr James' earliest music had, that's probably because we're already fans - we're no longer discovering him. We're just along for the ride. He knows it, I know it, and I'm perfectly happy to follow. In summary - you've already bought this album. So enjoy it.

It's not the sort of album that would impress people without any experience of Aphex Twin, but again it probably pleases the artist.
