Review of LG 29UC88
After receiving my LG29UC88 monitor I got my hands on it immediately. Packaging was nice, protected, and shiny. I started unboxing and was presented with some documentation, manuals, CD, and a factory letter where it states that the monitor was perfectly calibrated. After taking the monitor panel out, I just fell inlove with it (my first ultrawide curved). Although I have to mention that you have to be very careful while attaching the monitor to the stand because the monitor is quite bulky (long) and can get scratched easily if you are not careful or if you drop it. After assembling everything together, I immediately plugged it in and checked how its looking and working. I am probably never going back to 1920x1080p monitors as I was amazed by how my Windows gaming PC looks on it. Compared to my previous 24 inch 1920x1080p TN monitor (which I thought was amazing), I would say the LG blew me away. First the ultrawideness gives it an amazing look and experience, and the curve helps to make everything more dynamic and smooth (you just have to witness it, as it cannot be explained with words). I also noticed the colors, everything looked so much better and sharper and "colorfuller". The IPS panel is amazing, and the viewing angles are amazing as well. You do not lose any image quality no matter from where you are looking. Now going to some testing. I started a couple of games (most games support 21x9 aspect ratio, or if not you can always find a fix for them). My mistake was starting the games, I could not stop playing. Everything to be honest felt better, everything looked better, and everything felt smoother. I play a lot of FPS games, and I started seeing better ingames with this monitor. The included gaming presets work AMAZINGLY ingames, and everything just looks so much better. There are a couple of other presets, if I remember correctly: reading, cinema, a couple of games ones, custom, etc. The reading one is as well amazing if you want to read something, or if you are a coder. I myself am a coder and I would take an ultrawide instead of two 1920x1080 monitors. The only small problem that there is with this monitor might be the very small black light bleeding due to the curve around the angles. On mine it is barely noticeable on the top right (only when viewing PURE black), otherwise you cannot see anything. I cannot stop saying amazing things about this monitor, I am a bit sad that NVidia do not make their cards work with Free-sync and that's I cannot comment on that feature, but nevertheless the monitor works perfect with an NVidia card and you can use every other of the amazing features to their maximum extent. I would highly recommend this monitor, because the price to performance ratio is amazing. I hope this review was helpful!

Absolutely amazing, no regrets in choosing this monitor!
I was researching many monitors before making this purchase.Absolutely no regrets in choosing this one.As I do not like using two monitors, the ultrawide form is great for productivity as you can open multiple windows (recommended three side by side) for related work, LG also provides software for the windows to be snapped into pre-determined positions of different shape and sizes - this feature can be switched on and off (including startup options). In terms of gaming, the ultrawide form gives me a bit of an advantage as I can see things gamers using generic resolutions cannot. The curved element only ever slightly wraps around and is very immersive. If you have the space, I will recommend the 34" version instead. If not, choose this one. You will not regret it.

Perfect monitor that just didnt work with my setup
I absolutely love this display, incredibly vivid colours, intuitive menu system, great matt finish is easy on the eye without colour loss. Sadly I had to return it as I simply could not get my MacBook 12" to use the u-Wide res through three different HDMI USB-C hubs and one Display Port USB-C hub. This is in no way the fault of the monitor and if I get a PC in the future that has more than one USB port on it then I will buy this again and dedicate a port to it....!

Great Monitor, slight false advertsing.
Firstly I am happy with the monitor. No problems, no hassle, lovely looking. HOWEVER I have one issue with the Sellers page. Half way down it had on the back 2 USB 3 ports and a type B(i think) usb 3 port (the double header one) on the back of said monitor, the "From the manufacturer" part. That was very misleading because I bought the monitor thinking it had those features. Now I am not upset it doesn't have them, otherwise this wouldn't be 5 stars, but the page itself is at fault. Other than that, hiccup I can not fault this monitor.

Really good monitor overall.
Despite the backlight bleed that I have on top right corner the panel looks good, no dead pixels or other defects. Works really great with games due a Freesync up to 75Hz refresh rate is one of the pillars to buy this monitor with fair price. Not a gaming panel but good enough. It is a pleasure to have 2 complete websites in parallel. The adaptative ergonomic stand is another of the strengths. One of the faults is that it only comes with a HDMI cable, if you want to reach 75hz you must buy a Displayport cable that supports the resolution and refresh rate of this monitor.
