Canon Office Products PIXMA MG2525 Black Wireless Color Photo Printer with Scanner/Copier

My opinion so far is that the new replacement is not as good as the old model. I bought this because my original model (MP280) that I've had for 20 years has decided to give up the ghost and I was told that this model (MG2525) was the replacement . I have not had it long enough to test it properly but a quick test of a color photo was not as good as the old unit. I am presently attempting to rectify that problem and go through a full test of its capabilities which should be finished in February. For now I'm saying that the new is not as good as the old.

ink has short life span. I do military funerals with Patriot Guard Riders. I use a lot of ink postings missions.

using it for Bills, Mail, orders, etc. to Print out. The printer keeps having error messages with Printing. Why???Everything is connected correctly. The printer came with two print cartridges Blk. and color. Only lasted a couple of hours printing 4 pages, normal size, and normal content.Most have been "used" cartridges????????Will never order from this Company again. Still waiting for answers to the messages I wrote to the Seller.Maybe something else will go "wrong" with the printer (before the return date expires) date) then will return.

I like the price but it is so loud!

Beware! Doesn't come with the USB cables required to print. Was unable to print when I needed it. This is the big type A USB cable. You can't just use the one from your phone.

Straightforward setup, only took about 10 minutes to complete. However please note, this is an extremely "barebones" printer with very few features. To start, this inkjet does NOT have wireless capabilities, you'll need to source a printer cable as one is not included inside the packaging annoyingly. Another shortcoming is the lack of a screen and user interface, this printer has 4 buttons in total (power, stop, black copy, and colour copy) so using it without a computer is extremely limited. Value for money is great as this was on promotion for 50% off from regular $99, I was pleasantly surprised to find a printer that you can still purchase for under $50 in 2023. One set of starter ink cartridges are included however these are known to become used up fast given their low introductory page yield; typical 3rd-party remanufactured cartridges run for about ~$50 per set for the 245/246XL and the genuine Canon ones run around ~$85 before taxes. This is an inkjet printer so it is recommended to print at least one or two pages per week to keep the ink cartridges fresh and prevent clogging/drying up. Overall an excellent buy if you're looking for a reasonably priced wired inkjet printer just keep in mind its limitations and shortcomings.

Basic printer, light, a bit flimsy, can tell it's a basic model! But... :) It prints Word docs great, scans docs fast and easy, worked right out of the box with easy set up. Ink was easy to install.Very easy set up, follow the quick instructions and you can't go wrong. Plug machine in, take all orange tape/plastic off of machine, instal ink carts that come with machine (full cartridges, not demos), install software off disc or download from Cannon. Plug in USB cord (not included), turn on power align print head (follow instructions) and you are ready to print. 3 to 5 min set up!If I was doing home office printing I would look for a higher grade model but for printing the odd document or scanning a paper for a copy, it works great. I have not tried out photo printing and I did not get this printer to do that. Would not pay regular price of $99, wait for sale!

I've been eyeing this printer for years now as it's always been the cheapest printer on the market, standing at around 30-40ish. I bought it more as a backup to my ever troublesome HP for when it inevitably clogs up or flat out fails.For the printer, it's the pure basics, no knickknacks or wireless connectivity whatsoever, it just scans and prints.Photo quality is decent, nice colors, and its good on the details. Text is alright aswell.Speed wise it's nothing crazy. It's not fast or slow, just moderate.Build quality is good for its price point, its feels well made enough.Ease of use, I ditched the cd and just downloaded the driver from the internet and after installing the cartridges the printer was ready to go, in a matter of minutes. So not terrible, i dont have a desktop so using it is somewhat inconvenient for me as I've got to connect it to my laptop whenever I wanna print.I think this printer is best suited for VERY light use, for the occasional stuff (even if it's not good for it). I cant ever see it being used in a professional setting or a home office for that matter. It has a very low page yield, meaning itll print just under 30 pages at best before you've gotta buy a set of new cartridges. It may be worth it for you if your just looking for a low cost printer or a backup, that you just dont need that much, and your okay with wires.

3 stars for this basic printer but only 1 star for the experience,. The printer is vey basic but entirely adequate for my needs. It requires a Canon USB cable connection to the PC which is not included (very cheap sale tactic) which I already had from another Canon product and I prefer to WiFi.Printer commands are simple but the scanner menu is very annoying as it is mostly promotion material and only 1 out of about a dozen icons actually controls the scanner. Scanned docs can go to Documents but not to a Document subfolder, so an extra step.The CD included is useless, none of the files work. The driver can be downloaded from Canon support site. An instruction note should be included in the package so time is not wasted. A testament to extreme cheapness of the seller.The buying experience was bad, Printer came with a defect (fault) and had been obviously incompetently repaired and probably had seen several returns. In addition to the mailer to me there were 3 others still apparent. Amazon must have known about this. No idea how old printer is as it first came out about 10 years ago. I have since bought one from the Source and it works fine.Do not buy this from Amazon.
