Quite happy. Think about your wind situation before getting ANY garden umbrella. Strength required.
It's working out fine so far. Only issue is one expected - wind. I have to open and close it whenever I want to go out there because I worry what may happen if I leave it. But I pretty much knew that was going to be the case when I ordered it. It's getting 5 stars because it's taking the wind as well as can be expected, and looks great where I'm using it. Also right size for my use case.Compared to center-pole units this one requires a fair amount of strength to extend and retract aside from the hand crank to open/close the umbrella. I would not recommend for an elderly person for that reason.

size is nice, expands and contracts easily
not waterproof, you will have to spray it. size is nice, expands and contracts easily. needs a solid base, the one amazon suggested is not that great unless you can fill it with sand. With water a good gust of wind sent it flying so I had to move it to an area with less danger of wind.I bought it primarily for rain protection while I grill (just moved to the PAC NW) and was sad that it leaked. Sprayed it with silicon waterproof spray and its great now.

Already broken, can’t handle any type of breeze.
Already broke. We didn’t get to use it even once. The slightest breeze turned it away from where we wanted and there was no locking it in place. It would swivel anyways and within a week it’s in two pieces. Maybe an option to get some sort of mesh cover with it that allows wind to flow through it would work? I’m not sure how the company would fix this but it just doesn’t work well. Replacement parts would be nice too as I’d be willing to purchase what’s broken and try it again (when there’s not any wind).

Well Made But Huge!
The umbrella itself seems to be very sturdy and well made. It opens up and closes very easily and I was able to assemble it relatively quickly. It seems like a product that would last.I got this to shade a portion of my backyard. The problem is, it is huge. When I say huge, I mean I couldn't open the umbrella completely just due to how large it is. It still works well partially opened. I just really underestimated its size. If you have a very large backyard, this will definitely work very well for you. But if you have a tiny yard like the one I have in my townhome, it may be a little too large.

Looks great but useless quality and no responsibility from the seller.
I thought this was too good to be true...it IS. While the umbrella looks great, it broke after under 5 months of limited use. I made sure to keep it closed in any windy conditions, which was already a limitation. Then The base of the umbrella underneath broke from the bar and the winch didn't work correctly. I tried to fix it with the strongest duct tape, to no avail. The umbrella could still be opened for awhile, but then the flimsy rope inside just snapped. I wrote to the company to ask for a replacement of the umbrella part. The company replied promptly telling me the item is not in stock (although it is clearly still offered here on Amazon) and that time had expired for any refund/replacement also. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS JUNK.

String to raise and lower the umbrella broke after less than 10 uses
I liked this umbrella but was surprised to see that the string the runs inside to raise and lower the umbrella has already broken after less than 10 uses. I bought this in the spring to be read for the hot days and hadn't even used it 10 times and it's already broke. I guess I could get a string and try and fix it but it looks like a lot of work so will most likely throw it out soon since I can't use it at all.

Amazing for the money
Amazing for the money. We could not find an umbrella for less than $300 anywhere, and the good ones were even more expensive. This is really a great quality umbrella. It does blow over in high winds when opened. We have sand bags on the bottom but even those don't help when a good gush comes through. But really for the cheap price, buy some weights or add more sandbags and you're golden.

Nice umbrella, but a part cracked after one summer.
Sturdy and big. The base is larger than I thought it would be, but it has to be to support it. The umbrella dries quickly, and hasn't faded yet. I am very happy with it. Note: I changed it to 4 stars because the plastic sliding lock cracked after one season. There are no parts to be found. Luckily, my husband is handy, and repaired it himself.
