I used these to create those flowers decorations (seen on Etsy) for my roller skate laces. They are exactly what I wanted! The tools did just what I wanted and I have more than enough grommets to last for many projects! One note for the grommet punch though, if it seems like it is not working (or seems dull), it may due to the surface your are hitting your grommet punch on. I first tried it on wood. This worked poorly for me (the grommet punch was just shredding the thread on my patch instead of cutting through it) and badly damaged the wood I was hitting on. I then tried using the punch on concrete (in a garage). This worked perfectly (I was able to get very clean hole punches through my patches), but I was chipping and damaging the concrete as a result. I finally tried using the punch on a mini anvil. This worked perfectly just like on concrete, but I was leaving scratch marks and dents as a result. I'm not sure if I was being too heavy handed with the hammer, but I couldn't seem to get the punch to work without damaging the surface I was hitting on. As for the grommet tool itself (that installs the two parts of the grommet together), this worked perfectly. I was able to use it on all three surfaces with no damage.

I just bought this a few days ago, and just got to use it for the first time. It worked perfectly! Using the hole cutting tool was easy. I just pressed it to the tarp, twisted it side to side and it cut right through the tarp. I would imagine with thicker material, you might have to hammer it through. Just make sure you have some wood or something else that gives easily so you don't damage the cutting edge. Then, following the instructions shown in the photos on here, I put it all together. Quite easy, really! Very glad I bought this product and I will most certainly be recommending it to others.

Package was smaller than I was expecting, but the box was chock full o'grommets. When I tried to punch a hole in a sheet (like a bed sheet- I'm going to hang it in the wall instead of painting) and it couldnt even gouge the cloth. Dented maybe, but it was back to normal when I smoothed it... not even a year. Sending back and will get 1. A larger size, and 2. A better punch. REVISION: I think this is more about terrible instructions. When using the punch tool, you must place the punch ONTO the round tool, with the material you are putting a hole into BETWEEN the punch tool and the round tool. Now that I've figured it out, I'll be keeping the set. PLEASE work on your instructions!!

Love this kit. I am making felt books for our grandchildren. I am using lots of rivets, the whole kit works wonderful. I am using a 1/2 inch thick piece of aluminum for underneath the punch. Wood was too soft and did not work and concrete will just dull the punch. But the aluminum works great as a background for the punch and doesn't dull it.

I bought this to put grommets in some duck cloth, and I was able to punch about 50 grommets, all of which got a decent hold (although some of the fabric around the grommets did still fray). However, I did have to re-sharpen the fabric punch, which was poorly machined and not sharp enough to do the job. Meanwhile, the divot on the side of the fabric punch that's used to allow you to collect the punched-out fabric circles was extremely sharp (it actually cut my finger). So, the fabric punch is sharp in places where it should be dull, and dull in places where it should be sharp. Be careful, and be ready to so some filing to get this thing where it's usable. Also, the instructions are written in poor English. Most of the use of the product is pretty straightforward, so it's not a huge problem. However, it can still cause issues. As one example, it's not entirely clear how the gaskets should be placed. It says that they should "match the grommet," but that could mean two things. It could mean that, like the grommet, the round side of it is facing outwards. It could also mean that the curves of the gasket should match the curves of the grommet. From what I could tell, the second option is correct, but the instructions don't really make that very clear. If you need a grommet kit and you don't want to pay a whole lot of money, this will get the job done. However, you may find your project delayed by the need to fix the low quality tools provided in this kit.

This grommet tool was great! I used them to make lace accessories for my skates and I was amazed at how it worked out. Initially I thought there was no way these could even punch a whole into the embroidered patches but I punched a whole right through my (ikea) desk. I took it out to the garage and hammered against the concrete. Worked great!

Exactly what you pay for. Never used this kind of stuff before but i wanted to try to fix a plastic part of a shoe,didn't work but the kit did exactly what it was intended for. I did use it for some other things that worked great.

I bought this to repair my sons shoe, a cloth loop ripped out. The cutter was dull, for me that is not a major issue, I can sharpen it. If you are trying to use it out of box you may have some difficulty. I was able to put a hole through about 4 layers of the material in the shoe and get a grommet it. The rest of the tools worked great and I was able to install the grommet without issues. Over all I would recommend this grommet kit provided you don't mind fixing the edge on the cutter.

Totalmente recomendable. Lo único malo es que la caja es pequeña para tanta pieza y venía rota. Por lo demás, perfecto.

not sure what to say about these, they do exactly what you'd expect, brilliant for lace holes, belt holes ect. super easy to use, just pop the bigger ones under the cloth, the ring ones over the cloth, use the included too and a hammer to wack them together and your done, simples. you even get a leather hole punch in the perfect size included. its everything you need to replace that missing lace hole in your trainers or Dc Martins or make your leather belt a bit more hardy with solid belt holes, its great, all neatly kept together in the included box.

Immer muss man sich ärgern wenn etwas kaputt ist und man es nicht selbst reparieren kann. Damit ist jetzt Schluss. Mit diesem Ösen Kit lässt sich vieles selbst reparieren. Zum Beispiel der Turnbeutel meines Sohnes. Dort war eine Öse ausgerissen. Eigentlich hätte ich einen neuen gekauft aber jetzt habe ich es selbst repariert. Leider ist keine Anleitung dabei, aber eigentlich kann man sich denken wie es funktioniert. Und außerdem ist es in der Artikelbeschreibung auch zu sehen. Als erstes stanzt man das Loch aus, wo die Öse hin soll. Dann steckt man die Öse von unten hinein, legt das Loch des Materials wo die Öse hin soll drauf, das Gegenstück darauf und dann mit dem Metallwerkzeug und einem Hammer kräftig drauf schlagen. Schon sitzt die Öse fest. So einfach aber effektiv. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen.
