Cooking the Three Dog Bakery Way

Love Three Dog Bakery
Think I already had this book but couldn't find it and loved it so much that I bought another copy. Guess that says it all. Baked one of the treat recipes to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Bob (our dog) joining our family. He loved them! Made more than the 12 muffins recipe said--my muffin tin may be a little on the small side--so shared with friends. One dog carefully savored his in delicate bites. Another turned away from a store-bought treat from the pizza man because he knew I had another muffin in my hand for him.I feel good knowing that the treats have no chemicals, no preservatives, and no who-knows-what might be in packaged treats. In fact I don't even purchase packaged treats that are not American made knowing some of the unhealthy things that have been foisted on us in the name of "inexpensive" which turned out to be hazardous to people and pets.BTW, I ate one of the muffins, too. Very good! No sugar. Sweetened with honey. Moist from the use of unsweetened applesauce. All fresh, dog-healthy, human food grade ingredients. Can be frozen for a couple of months so one baking of an item lasts.Next week we're having a celebration dinner honoring the anniversary of the Katrina refugee joining the family. Entree will be from this book of course.Purchased a second Three Dog Bakery cookbook at the same time. Dogs and I are lovin' the good, healthy treats. Like Betty Crocker says, "nothin' says lovin' like something from the (your own) oven."Adopt, spay, neuter, love, feed healthy! Wags and licks to TDB!

Great Book - all types of recipes.
This is a great book. I recently had a copy and I bought another one for a friend for Christmas. She was thrilled! This book is very nice in that some recipes are quick and simple, and they use common ingredients such as oatmeal, flour, etc.If you want to get a little more advanced, other recipes call for things that you may have to purchase at the local supermarket, such as long-grain rice, tomatoes, molasses, light cheddar cheese, ground sage, etc.The recipes produce quality treats! If you like baking for your doggies like me, it is a great book to have on hand. Dog treats are also inexpensive to make, generally, and they make great gifts for other pet lovers.

Loved by Dog and Master Alike!
(I actually own the paperback version, but I love it so much that I wanted to copy my review over to the Kindle version!)This is a fantastic book! The recipes turn out well, and the writing itself is wonderful and humorous. This is the sort of cookbook that's fun to sit and read - it's filled with adorable anecdotes and really valuable facts about dogs and their care, not to mention charming illustrations. You really can't go wrong with this book!

Yummy recipes for your dog friends.
Great book. Simple recipes from my dogs favorite place- The Three Dog Bakery. Luckily, we have the brick and mortar store in our area, but this book is full of awesome recipes for folks in areas without a nearby dog bakery. Love it.

great book, lots of awesome biscuit recipes
a lot of the recipes have waaay too much sweeteners but there were plenty others that really worked well. I didn't give it five stars because some of these recipes are just ridicuolous. I am not making a lasagne just for my pups......I really bought this book for their biscuit recipes and they have worked out really well.

My dogs and I both love it!
This is a delightful book - not only for the recipes but for the comments too. I have tried a few of the recipes - ingredients are simple and healthy. All four of my dogs have given it the good eating gold medal for this household. They love it when I cook and the book has made it hassle free. Have also shared some of the treats with friends dogs and not a single one has turned them down. They beg for more.

I bought this book almost two months ago. This is my first time to make the dog cookies, I love this book very much. My dog, my friend's dogs love the cookies too, especially, the peanut butter cookies, pumpkin cookies, potatoes cookies, banana cookies.....I almost made 10 recipes already, they all came out good. The instruction is easy to follow, the ingredient is easy to buy.I really recommend this book for everyone who wants to make a cookies to your dog.

fun but inspirational as well
The story of the Three Dog Bakery and how it came about is heartwaraming and inspirational. Entertaining commentary, too. The recipes for the specially prepared foods are pretty good. I have tried a few of them and my three elderly dogs love it.

Yeah. It's a dog cookbook.
They like to cook a dog food that looks like human food. Not exactly what I was looking for.

Excellent dog biscuits!
The book itself is very plain on the inside, nothing flashy and no photos of the end product, but most recipes are easy to follow with simple ingredients. Most stuff you can find at home although there are a couple of recipes that require some hunting for the right ingredients. The book does help you with the do's and don'ts of what to feed your dog and way. My dog loves the Spots Cookies, however they ask for all-purpose flour and I used brown rice flour for a gluten free cookie ( which can be substituted for any flour for dog baking). Lots of great recipes for your dog to enjoy.
