Seems OK, About 27 Inches Across When Open, Haven't Had It Out In The Wind Yet
As far as umbrellas go this one seems OK. When open, it is about 37 inches across. I thought it would be larger than that. This wouldn't really work as a golf umbrella. When folded up it is pretty large as well, about 29 inches. It did OK in some rain but it wasn't windy so I don't know how well this would hold up in windy conditions. As you can see, the inside layer of fabric does have some holes in it. That may help air it out if water gets in between the outer layers but since there is no hole with a cover on the outer layer, I don't think it would help much in the wind.It does look pretty nice but I think in the future I'll stick to regular umbrellas. You can get a similar sized umbrella (when open) that folds up much smaller, it easier to carry and is probably just as durable as this one.Whenever I get this out in wind, I'll update this with some comments about the performance in wind.

Great innovation for umbrella users
You have to try this umbrella, maybe not this one but at least give this kind of umbrella a try, it's amazing!I can't vouch for how it behaves in high winds, it's only October here and the windiness has been at minimums so far, but it has been raining cats and dogs and the absolutely best part about this umbrella is that when you close it the water all falls off without having to shake, open close, swing around like a lasso DOESNT have to happen to get most of the water off before bringing it into the house! Imagine that! An umbrella that keeps the rain out of your house and off of your slippery tile floors!I have to admit I just thought this seemed like a strange way to fold up an umbrella so that it would fit into a cart or bag but that is only a small part of this device. Some other things to know; it is lightweight and has a soft hook handle that is a good grip for people with arthritis. It also has a nice sized loop for hanging. The color outside is black while the inner lining is navy, I don't know why but I think all umbrellas should have a different color interior, it makes it easier to see tears and when a spine has slipped or broken. All in all, this is a great umbrella and I wish I'd had it when I was pregnant and struggling through the long Seattle rain season.

A Bit Disappointed.
I was excited to finally get an umbrella like this, especially with 3 days of rain coming. The red button that is suppose to automatically open it up gets stuck. it does not open up quick and I've had to manually open it quite a few times. I'd say this isn't worth the money, invest in something better.

Nice umbrella with one issue
I received this item at no cost for my honest review. I would have to say this is a very nice umbrella with one small issue. It is sturdy, nice double fabric, handle is very comfortable with the rubber coated material to hold. The push button to open is soft and quick! It comes with a slide on cover and has a cord for hanging. All very nice and substantial. My issue with this travel umbrella is after you have opened to use and then go to fold up, it takes some work to get it back small enough to place the cover back on. I found myself having to visit each triangle of fabric on the folded tynes to straighten for it get flat enough to fasten the strap with velcro closure. I have never had that issue before and thinking about why, I believe it is because of the double fabric. Because of that, it would be awkward to put away after use

Opens great
This umbrella is a bit heavy and feels sturdy like a good umbrella. It is very compact and comes with a bag to put it back into and and it does automatically open. Was kind of hoping when I read automatic it would come back down too and not have to push it back down, but that what it is. The biggest downside so far is it opens big and closes big, so it is very hard to get back into it's case for storing. It does open quick and fast though and when you hit the close button it retracts the top a bit but you still have to push it down and it kind of makes a bowl like shape so when you shut it the water is on top so you can just dump it outside of the car instead of the car.It is a good umbrella, and I would suggest it for anyone in an area with wind and rain.

Inverse Folding Umbrella
This review is for the folding umbrella and not the travel umbrella. It does not open or close automatically. It closes by keeping the top/wet part on the inside. There are two good reasons that I can think of for closing like this. One is that if you hold the umbrella up (while it is closed) no water will get on the floor. So, you can carry it like this around for a bit to keep everything around you dry. The second reason is if it touches you when it is closed, it will not get you wet. Very useful when getting in a car from the rain. With a normal umbrella I would get everything around me wet as I bring in the umbrella. As for it being windproof. I’m not so sure if bending back counts as windproof. I am able to swing the open umbrella so that it bends backwards. See the pictures of it bent back. But even after it gets bent back like that, it is still wide enough to keep you dry and all it takes to go back to normal is for you to pull down on one of the stems. Not much effort to bring it back to normal. It feels more solid against the wind than other umbrellas. If not windproof, I would say the most wind resistant umbrellas I’ve ever owned. It seems to be made well. It has two layers of fabric. It opens and closes very easily. I definitely like and find it useful to have it fold like the way it does.

Nice size to keep in the car
The media could not be loaded. I do like that this was smaller than the previous umbrella I purchased in this style, but it isn’t quite small enough to where I would take it on a flight with me. The trade off is that a more compact umbrella is usually the traditional style and not this style that folds closed the opposite way. When it closes this way, in my experience, you have less chance of getting wet from the water that may still be on the umbrella. See the video for how it opens, in case you haven’t experienced this style yet. I liked that a carry bag was included, and the build quality is good. I would recommend this if you plan on keeping it in the car for local travel, but if you need a compact umbrella for the purse or to fit in a backpack, there are probably more compact options out there.
